So I've been boiling water in a pot checking the temp with a cooling thermometer for years now because quite frankly, I'm lazy. I thought it was fine. Yet I digress...Ordered the 1.2L because I was sick of making my coffee like a Neanderthal. The wife rolled her eyes upon my triumphant announcement and I rolled mine in return. What does she know, she uses creamer. Moving on, Phil, the founder, immediately sent me a congratulatory email and tips on making better coffee which was a nice touch. As for the actual kettle, it came promptly and was immaculate. I can attest that the lid containing the thermometer can handle a fall from the height of your average counter...I may or may not have knocked it off twice. In sum, it's a great kettle and I recommend it.

Overall a well made, functional product. I received, cleaned and then sought to use, only to find that the built in thermometer read 100 F at room temperature, and well over 212 F on a boil. Needless to say, I was unable to use it to determine proper pour over temperature. Frustrated, I went to check my order to look into a return, and noticed I'd received a thank you email from the seller. I replied to it with my issue and received a prompt response with an offer to replace the lid. This was Sunday, and I received the new lid the following Tuesday. Very fast and friendly service, which can be hard to find nowadays.

great kettle! i did a bunch of research and ended up choosing this one based on reviews, aesthetics, and the thermometer. it works great, boils quickly, easy to hold/pour, seems very sturdy. it holds the perfect amount of water for a 6-cup chemex. get a fancy grinder, kitchen scale, good beans, and your home coffee game will be at 100!!

This is an extremely well made kettle. Ive been using it for about a week and a half or two weeks now, and I love it. I use it with an Aerobie Aeropress, a JavaPress manual burr coffee grinder, and preferably, Black Rifle Coffee (Beyond Black is my favorite roast so far).
Using this kettle is very easy. Fill it up a little over half way, put it on the stove, and within a few minutes, your water is at the right temperature. The green band on the thermometer is very convenient and the gooseneck is very well designed.
Several days ago, I emailed the owner of CoffeeGator (Phil), who is extremely nice. This seems like a well run family business who is trying to do a good thing for coffee lovers. I will definitely be keeping them on my radar to see that they are doing well and hopefully purchase more products from them in the future.

I bought this to use with my eight cup Chemex (which only makes 40 ounces of coffee since Chemex makes their own standard for cup size, but I love the coffee it makes so I'll let it slide). Most gooseneck kettles that I've found only have a one liter capacity. It's nice to have that extra 0.2 to be able to make a full pot whenever I so desire. The instructions advise against boiling with the kettle filled to capacity, but it's really not a big deal since I just use my electric kettle to boil the 40 ounces and then just use the Coffee Gator kettle and its gooseneck abilities to get that perfect pour. If I had one beef, it'd be the end of the spout; it is quite sharp and could've used some filing to dull those practically unfinished edges. But I'm not planning to fall on it, so it wasn't worth leaving less stars. Besides, the presence of the thermometer outweighs the danger of the sharp spout.
