I followed the instructions to a T but my phone would not recognize the device. I tried calling customer support and was on hold for almost fifteen minutes before I just hung up. Returning.

Update 9/18/2017: After I posted the above comment, the company reached out to me and after several emails and after they sent me a replacement unit I have to say that I am more than pleased. Their Customer Service was timely and extremely helpful, making sure that I was happy with their product and that it was working properly. The unit paired quickly and the sound is amazing. Thank you, Taotronics, for a wonderful product!

I am wholeheartedly Impressed what this little thing can do. At first I must admit I had an issue where I was unable to connect to this device. It turned out to be my phones fault; I was able to clear my saved cashe, restart my phone and connect to the device. But once it was connected it sounded ok. My only main issue with it is with the earbuds I was using had a loud white noise, which so far is the only downside (Aside form lack of a clip). When you are listening to music on low it is clearly audible. However when I am on the treadmill I barely notice it. After that I decided to try my Sennheiser Zero headset just see if it would even work, and to my surprise it did. Reasonably well on top of that, the sound signature is not the best but honestly its not bad for bluetooth connection to a device not meant for it. The range is also not bad I was able to hear them in my living room when my phone was in my bedroom (about 20ft) with minimal cutouts.

So Pros are Range, Power for the headphones, and Surprisingly ok sound quality.

Cons are no clip to attach to my shirt which was not that big of a deal but It was a minor annoyance with no pockets, and the constant white noise at low levels of audio. I should note it does stop when you stop your music it takes a few seconds but it does stop all noise.

Overall. I like this product. It's small and compact. It's basically a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver that can be used for a variety of devices. I use it mainly for my TV. You can also pair up to two Bluetooth headsets! The only thing I wish it had was a wall charger. I have a Chromecast that's being powered by my TV's USB port so I won't be able to charge this using the USB port on my TV.

Edit: The seller connected after reading this review and sent me a new Taotronics Bluetooth Transmitter.
Turns out, I have gotten a defective product before and everything is connecting fine. Audio quality is excellent and it's better than what I had expected. I really appreciate the seller reaching out to me and fixing this matter in the quickest and professional manner.

I've been looking for something like this and did not realize that it was already out in the market.

I connected this to my desktop computer as a transmitter to listen to audio on my bluetooth headsets. Initially I thought it was my headset that was causing unstable connection. However, sound kept on cutting off, literally, every 5-6 seconds and this was happening on my other bluetooth headsets and same thing happened on my Bose home speakers....

Unfortunately, I will be returning this item to get a full refund. Maybe I received a faulty product. I will be inquiring about this issue very soon before returning.

Ordered the Tao Tronics Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver. It arrived with a well written instruction book, USB charging cable, RCA male to 3.5 mm male cable, and a 3.5 mm male to 3.5 mm male cable. Item looks well made with the power button on the side of the unit.The red and blue LED lights surround the power button and are easy to see. I bought the unit primarily to transmit audio from my TV and have not tried the receiving function of the unit as yet. I connected the unit to my Vizio TV using the supplied RCA cable. The unit is light enough that I just let it hang behind my TV, but if need be, the unit could be attached to the side or top of the TV with some 2-sided tape. I plugged the charging cable into an open USB port on my TV so it will stay charged. I let the unit charge 2+ hours before attempting any pairing. Pairing was simple and quick. I currently have it paired with an Auvio brand wireless Headphone that list having Bluetooth version 4.0. The Tao Tronics unit lists having version 4.1 and something called A2DP stereo (software ?). I'm not sure about the A2DP, but Tao Tronics requires it for whatever device your using when using it for music. As far as working with my TV to transmit audio to my headphones, it works great. There is no lag in audio that I can perceive and the modulation is strong. I recommend this to anyone that wants to watch TV and not disturb the wife (or husband) at night.
