Excellent scales! Ebony was kind of brittle

Much praise and no complaints at all. I got these as a part of a larger order. This wood worked easily and took the finish well. Highly recommended. The zebra worked well right from the start and turned out perfectly. I must say that the ebony scales were kind of brittle and dry when I got them and so I did not use them right away. I just now got around to finishing the knife I bought them for. I stored the ebony blocks in a box I kept near one of my aquariums for a couple of years. The humidity made a difference. The scales ultimately turned out very nice.

Beautiful- gorgeous set of scales! I feel pretty lucky with this set. I just wish these were straight- it looks like they were cut with a bandsaw, so the book-ends end up being concave/convex and I am going to loose a bit of material. Luckily these are going on a fat tang.
