This is a lovely and nifty little tool for laying out accurate dovetail joints. It allows scribing of dovetails at four ratios: 1:5 and 1:6 for softwood, and 1:8 and 1:10 for hardwood. Very solidly made from CNC machined aluminum. My only complaint about the product is that the instructions are vague with respect to which faces of the guide are where. Once you "get it," things are fine. The "external" faces are 1:5 for softwood and 1:8 for hardwood, and the "interior" faces are 1:6 for softwood and 1:10 for hardwood. I have found that the exterior faces are a bit easier to use.
