I was so excited about these.... but they aren't so cute. The supposed bright red color is more of a faded almost pink color. It's really disappointing. I'm still wondering if I got a defected one or if this is the color they actually send to people. So bummed.

I'm probably starting to sound like a shill for DII, but honestly I rarely come across such consistently good quality and wide variety in a single line of goods. I know there are naysayers who talk about how cheaply made these bins are, but for $9 for a set of two, the quality is outstanding. I'd agree if I'd been asked to pay, say, $25 for the set; in that case I'd agree that it wasn't worth the price. But I'm amazed at how much you get for your money with these bins. I've had other storage bins of a similar type that were far more expensive and ridiculously flimsy, so I am aware of the variations of quality in items like this.

The other thing about DII that appeals to me is the style. The surface designs are well thought out, clean and crisp, and I have only encountered one style which sheds color, the metallics which scuff easily. As for color, I have a few issues with some of the color descriptions -- their "rust" is much closer to a red shade than the orange-brown I associate with rust.

However, I see people complaining about the colors not being true, and I would set much of that down to the fact that you're never going to be able to see the true color on your computer. That's just how these things work. I haven't yet found the color in the photos to be dramatically different from the items in-hand, but I keep my monitor well calibrated because I use it for art. My best advice is that if you hate the color, send it back.

Other than that, these little containers are in use all over my house and I plan to buy more as the need arises. They hold dry goods in my pantry, paper goods in my utility closet, household goods like lightbulbs and batteries in my storage area, clothing items in my bedroom... the only limit on the use of these bins is your imagination.

So no, I'm not a DII shill, I just love everything I've gotten from their various household lines. I've gotten them from Amazon, I've bought them at a household store (rhymes with foam hoods) for more than they're being sold here, and I have honestly loved every item.

I returned these, due to the color being gray and a very yellowy cream, not gray and white. I see that now one of the pictures shows them true to color, but it didn't before. I was so disappointed because the starburst pattern was so cute. But these were for my coming baby's nursery and it was important they have a white background. I even tried reordering to see if the second batch would be white. Nope, all had that yellowy background. If you don't care about the color they seemed to be decently made and a good deal for the price.

These cubes are super cute. I got the grey/white ones and my only critique with them is that the white/cream is more of a yellowy cream than I had anticipated. Other than that these cubes were a great buy.

Bought these for my craft room to use with my storage cubes. They fit perfectly and fill up the entire cube unlike many other fabric storage cubes which may only take up 2/3 of the cube and waste storage space.
