Boiled Dry - 10 days after it arrived! Amazing Customer Service!
TheraP•July 28, 2017
I ordered this after my husband ruined a non-whistling tea kettle. My "orders" tell me this arrived on July 20. It was first tried on the 21st. It never really whistled very much to start with. He started to make tea, I was taking a nap, and the darn tea kettle never whistled! Instead, the smoke alarm went off, waking me up. (He was in the next room. But heard nothing! We're in a retirement community, so have only 3 rooms. No one heard a whistle!)
The kettle looks lovely. Heats fast. Obviously I ordered this because it supposedly has a loud whistle. Now what?
Our 50th Anniversary is next month, so too late to "return" husband.
This so annoying! Of course I didn't save the packaging, not thinking this one would boil dry. And I needed that nap too...
Addendum: You can see from the comments here that the Seller contacted me immediately. And I can verify that they did everything they offered to rectify the problem. I commend them for excellent customer service! Much appreciated. (And indeed I had changed my review, but somehow it didn't appear. Sorry...)
Regarding the whistle, it starts out soft and then becomes shrill - hitting a very, very high note - one which is perhaps not the best for an elderly person. (As the older you get, the more you lose hearing in the high registers.) I would also add that since this kettle is quite heavy, and it's balance in the hand is a bit "off" it can be difficult for an elderly person to hold and pour when hot. Not impossible. But heavy when pouring slowly over tea leaves into a teapot.
Nevertheless, I commend the sellers! You can trust their customer service. And they stand behind their product.

The mechanics work great and the water heats relatively fast
James A. Freeman•July 27, 2017
The mechanics work great and the water heats relatively fast. I like the removable lid to easily fill the pot. Another nice thing is how slowly the whistle builds up when the water is hot. It's longer than some, not just going directly to loud / shrill. Instead, you can hear it and easily walk over to open the spout before it gets too loud, which is good if folks are still sleeping. :-) It is also welll-made and sturdy, so should last for years.
It seems that keeping the handle and lever to open the spout cover is a challenge for most tea pots is a challenge, which is true with this one as well. The heat at full boil is not unbearable, but it is not for the sensitive of hands, either.

Whistles While You Work.

What's not to love?! Great sturdy kettle.A little heavier than most due to heat plate in bottom. Heats very quickly. Whistle is nice and loud. Use potholder mitt to remove top for water refill if still hot. Weight can deceive and make you think that there's more water inside than actually is , so be sure and check it as you use water. Good new is, It can tolerate being filled very high without sputtering through the whistle.
Busy? Overscheduled? You need this tea kettle.

Are you one of those people who sets a timer and then forgets what it is for when it rings? Have you ever cooked a tea kettle? I have, and that is why I recommend to you this Willow & Everette tea kettle. The whistle will stop you in your tracks and you will remember from any part of the house that you have left water on to boil. I'm sure it is not just me who is pulled in multiple directions at any given time - I am a single mother, a mother of a certain age with a young energetic child, but I'm busy like most people where I am attempting the impossible in the incredibly limited amount of time that days seem to now offer. I believe this whistling stove top tea kettle is meant for people like me (and you)!
I love this kettle :)

This is a nice looking solid kettle. The whistle is not ear splitting but gets your attention. The handle stays cool, water boils quickly and I love the nice addition of a free tea steeper. Customer service is great too - they communicated with me right after my purchase so I know should I have any issues there will be someone on the other end to deal it. I have a feeling this kettle is going to hold up for a long while.
