I gave 4 stars as the older speakers I removed seem to have not sounded much different then these ones (which surprises me)--I am running it off the head unit--these might want more power that I have.

I'd prefer a more all covering grille.. I'm envisioning a fishing rod tip poking through the cone at some point from my 8 or 3 year olds... :)

Running on my boat with 100 watts rms (clean JL Audio amp) as filler speakers between 2 sets of pioneer 8's and a 12 sub, so I turn the gain down a bit on them for balance. They play clear as a bell to a very good volume. However, they are harsh until you tune and tame them, and even then are a bit harsh for my ears, so adding an EQ is needed to pull out some of the mids and tone them down beyond the crossover. I've only tested for 20 minutes during tune, but for the price...nice buy. We'll see if they hold up on the boat.

Polk is a safe bet for good quality sound, and they didn't let me down with these at all; crisp highs, good mid range, and decent low end for a 6.5" speaker.
For the price I'm very impressed by both the sound quality and the install kit they include. The mounting brackets worked perfectly and all the hardware and wiring you could need is included. Very happy with these.

Purchased these for the outside of our trailer so they are out in the elements bit time. They sound great and I think they will last much longer than the stock speakers as these are tested to more stringent standards. Kind of expensive but they do sound good and look to be well built.
