I used this mesh to build a custom enclosure for a raised bed planter. It was to keep rats from eating our tomatoes. I read from internet that one needs the opening to be no larger than 1/4" in order to keep mice from entering. It seems to work. Unfortunately the opening size is too small for bees to fly through. Fortunately our enclosure has feature to open a side of it to allow bees in to do their pollination work. It's extra work on our part to handle this. I wonder if 1/2" mesh opening would work for keep out mice. If so, I would choose that next time around.

Perfect material and size for my chicken run. With proper install, it should be an effective deterrent for fox, skunk, racoon, bald eagle, and hawk, as well as keep pests such as mice and squirrels, out of the chicken run/coop.
Pros: flexible, easy to handle, strong, small holes, but still leave visibility.
Cons: though strong, the material is a little brittle; fasteners sometimes snap the wire mesh rather than bend it.
Recommend using leather gloves when installing, unless blood-letting is a thing for you.

Excellent product, cuts easily, very pleased. Never thought to purchase this product online given it's weight. Glad I did. Just make sure you wear long sleeves and gloves when cutting these. They will scratch you up as any of these would.
