I grew up 15 miles from the "factory" this is made at and even took a tour of it when I was in school... The formulation has changed from when I was young... But I had forgotten how effective it was for all kind of skin things... It even healed pretty nasty cuts. I had a really bad skin irritation in a very sensitive area that just wouldnt clear up with anything... Even Hydrocortizone cream was ineffective. This was for a few weeks and concerned i was in need of medical intervention. Bag Balm.... 48 hours I was healed...fully... Amazing ....This needs to be in everyones medicine cabinet... I will never be without again.

I need to pair it with a healing lotion as well, but this has done wonders with my hands. I use O'Keefes Working Feet (because it's more potent the the hand lotion), then I layer this, then put on Paxcoo White Gloves, also from Amazon.
My hands get deep fissures in the fingertips and knuckles in the winter time. This year has been the worst one yet and someone recommended good ol' Bag Balm. I don't know why I didn't think of it. It seals in the healing lotion and works like a charm. I've been using it about a week now and this is a noticeable difference in my hands.

We used Bag Balm all the time growing up. Having had dry hands that were still having trouble after using the cream Cetaphil, I decided to use this ointment from my childhood. It's just as good as I remember for taking care of heavy-duty dry and chapped hands. It does smell a bit different than I recall, but perhaps we didn't use the medicated version before. Whatever the scent, it works miracles. My hands have gone from cracked and bleeding back to just normal dry with using this once a day. Very pleased with this purchase.

This 8oz tin formulation includes paraffin wax. My original 10oz tin does not list paraffin on the ingredient list. Bag Balm claims it is the same formulation, but this looks and feels nothing like the original. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but when there is a new ingredient listed, and it doesn't perform like the old stuff, I'm inclined to believe there was a change. It also doesn't heal my cracked dry hands like the original does. I'm almost out of my old tin, so I'm hoping I can find a replacement without the paraffin.
