Too high, Photo-shopped pic is deceiving.
furd✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 23, 2018
The carefully photo-shopped pic is deceiving as this rail sits way too high to use the dots as iron sites. Could mill down a few mm except the hole drilled for tiny bolt would also have to be moved or reamed. Way too much to work on $12 to make it right so 1 star.
Doesn't work on an SKS without major machining. (Yes, I know that the seller and mfg make no claim that it will.)

I bought it to try to mount it on an SKS, does not work even with a little machining.
There was a link to this part from another site indicating that it would.
Four stars because the design and machining that the manufacturer did looks decent.
It did lean to the left in the mount but I cannot say if my work caused this or it was already that way.
Doesn't look like my work would have been able to do that but in 3D space, things get a little tricky.
Can't say if it would do this in an AK sight base right out of the box.
making the mount useless. Even if it hadn't

Save your money. All of the connecting hardware is undersized and delicate, especially the leveling set screws. To give you an idea, you'll need the smallest Allen wrench you have. One of the screw heads stripped on mine, making the mount useless. Even if it hadn't, it wouldnt take much of a bump to the mount to break the tiny set screws.
Good value.

Pretty solid- more limited by small area of attachment available of the rear sight mount than by this rail. . I mounted on a RAS Century. As others noted, I had to file off a little on the front of the sight- not much, just to round it. If you do it carefully by hand (takes only a few minutes) and keep checking fit, you can make it a solid perfect fit on the front of the mount. Kind of wedges in. With appropriate torque on screws they don't break. Use loctite. I can't see how this type of mount could be improved a whole lot. Felt real solid with a small red-dot on it. With a longer heavier scout scope, it still doesn't move but I will be careful not to bump it.
It Can Work

Like anything, this has Pro's and Con's. Here is what I found using this.

Pros:
- It's $8 !!!
- It's anodized well.
- Any after market product is retrofitted to a design (more accurately multiple variations on the same design) not intended to utilize after market products. They all have flaws. This one has less flaws.
- Shipper had the product to me as stated and packaging was solid. All parts were present.
- I should be able to make it work.
- Recoil does not seem to bother it.
- Balance of the rifle does not seem affected.
- Sits lower on the rifle than other designs.
- Top loading is affected a little but not too bad.

Cons:
- A lot of milling was required to get it to fit. I do not own a professional milling machine. As such, it looks a little Bubba-ish.
- So much material was removed from the front end, very little aluminum was left for strength around the cross bolt. Not very strong. To be fair, there is not much clearance on my Yugo to begin with. Maybe titanium would be a better choice of material for thin walls. (See Pro #1)
- Lateral stability is weak. Alignment suffers.
- I am still working on a good optic. They all seem to sit too high for my fit. Could just be me.

I hope this helps. If you want a 100% perfect and function product outta the box, this may not be it. But if that is your desire, perhaps consider an AR not a 70 year old cold war relic.
