My only gripe about this fermenting jar is the way the main lid screws on the glass jar.... It's screwy! it's so hard to get it settled just right so that it doesn't go on crooked. It shouldn't be that difficult! Even so, it still doesn't feel quite right after numerous re-do's. I guess just don't even think about picking it by holding any part of the lid. The best feature is the water ring "moat" that forms a seal so that no outside air (or germs) can go in, but gasses can exude from your wonderful ferment! The glass seems heavy-duty. This is such a nice clean way to make fermented foods.

I have had this for a while, and in the last year, I started using it regularly. It will hold more kimchi than it looks like it will and I like the glass feature - it allows me to keep an eye on how things are going and how much kimchi is left. Great option for someone that likes their kimchi fresher, and is making enough for a few people.
Probably not worth the price

I'm fairly new to fermenting, so this is not an expert opinion, but I like this crock. It was easy to use and the vegetables that I fermented came out very well. However, unless you are experienced, be aware that the company does not provide a lot of help, either on the insert, on their website, or by e-mail contact. Furthermore, having done this now for a few weeks, I would suggest saving yourself the hefty price and using mason jars with Sauer Stones instead.
Beautiful ❤️

This is a beautiful item. It looks great on my counter. I'm careful with it. I haven't had any problems.
Nice size

I ordered this pickle fermenter to make fermented pickles! The info said there was a booklet with recipes included. True a booklet (1 page) was included, but you would think a recipe for pickles would be in the booklet, but no, nothing about pickles! Sauerkraut, kimchi, and other vegetables, in a very limited volume. They want you to buy their fermenting recipe book. Also the instructions are very vague, nothing mentioned about filling the lid trough with water before capping it.
