Used it a few times and it's quite heavy, which is what you want in a tenderizer. The head and handle are connected which is great. Works as advertised

I'm very happy with this well made, dishwasher safe mallet. I had another aluminum mallet but couldn't put it through the dishwasher - -a concern after using it to pound raw chicken and pork. This mallet is completely dishwasher safe, and has a nice weight and comfortable grip. It was well packaged and shipped very quickly.
lEasy clean but limited usefulness

Nonstick surface makes cleanup easy. one side is smooth and the other has small teeth. it works well for thinner cuts that tear easily like chicken but has limited value for thick cuts of beef. the handle is long which provides ease in using upper arm movement but small pieces of meat using wrist movement are difficult to accomplish. The item is dishwasher safe. This item is ok but will not replace my metal pounder with both large and small teeth.

Detached from handle on first try...
Black thin paint is chipping off. UGH

This just arrived today. The black paint had a chip on the flat hammer section. and there was a pimple also on the flat section. So, the black coating is just a very thin layer of cheap black paint. I am sending this back.
