I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day because the neighbors pit bulls have attacked her dogs before so I figured if they try again all she'll have to do is crackle it, and they'll run... if not then I told her to just hit them with this once, and they won't ever approach her again! She feels safe walking her dogs again, and I feel better knowing my mom also has a way to defend her self against getting mugged also.

Excellent product. I don't like that the plastic housing is so thin as to allow light from the flashlight to glow out from the sides, but overall an excellent item. Now to test the shock ability......AAAAAGH!!
