Got the item 2 days ago. Sure would be super if there was a green light to show when the battery is charge since there the description repeatedly warned NOT to overcharge. It came with some charge. 10-12 hours charge minus the mystery amount inside.

I work outside and am very often out there when it gets dark. I use flashlight every day. Hard to know where I am in the charge without any indication lights, etc.I have another stun baton that has wicked sharp teeth. (It is under the driver's seat in my truck.) Rather awkward for daily use but it does have some advantages.

My main concern with this tool is the off-light-zap switch. It very easily slides to zap position if in my flashlight pocket so when you grab it, and you accidentially touch the little button on the opposite side, ZAP! No way to tighten it. A holster definitely is a must with this bugger.

The other is a question. There are 2 narrow strips of red tape as will show in the pictures. The one near the top says "Vipertek" and there is a little bump under it. The other is down near the plug in end. It is covering up a small round and possible hole. For those of you who have taken these things apart, what the heck are those about? The flashlight body already says Vipertek.

The flashlight is bright enough and the ZAP is pretty convincing. I like that you don't have to "clear" the current on the metal ends like my first stun baton (about 12" long many years ago). If you didn't with that one, the charge lingered in the prods until it touch metal or me. Quite a wake up.

You get what you expect with a cheap stun gun. The voltage and overall flashlight are great, but the metal conductors easily fall out from the top (especially so if they remotely snap on anything). I haven't had to actually use it, but it sounds threatening enough to scare someone off or at least make them think twice, in my onion.

Purchased several VIPERTEK VTS-T03 230 MILLION Heavy Duty Stun Guns in "red" & "hot-pink" so I could associate the color with "hot" & "pain" and to avoid confusing them with regular flashlight. The casing is metal, not plastic and the flashlight is awesome, bright and no "dead-non-lighted center" as you get with most ordinary flashlights...excellent! Charged them for 12 hours as per the directions & tested by sliding the on/off switch to the forward position (towards the lighted end) & giving a very brief split-second "push of the button"...WHOA!!! I would NOT test this on a human being or animal (that'd be cruel/dangerous)...save it for the bullies/rapists/thugs. I carry one on my person, have one near my front door, one in my bedroom and purchased one for my grown kid. I like that I have serious self-defense at my finger tips that isn't a gun! I like that I only recharge it for 1 or 2 hours every month to maintain the battery charge level, but found it holds a very strong charge much longer than that! Highly recommended if you're looking for a serious stun gun!
I highly recommend the device for anyone of good conscience to have readily available for self defense!

I purchased this for my wife so she can protect herself. Three times a week she helps out her brother by walking his dog (a beagle). He lives in the kind of area where you can find used heroin needles by just walking around outside. It isn't a nice area, but it's where he lives. To keep her and the dog safe (a ton of stray dogs) she needed something more than pepper spray (which doesn't work too well if you have bad aim in a panic). This functions as a flashlight in addition to the taser in case she gets stuck out at night.

Honestly, I would rather she carry an actual gun rather than a stun gun but at least it's a step in the right direction. If this can help her even a little in an emergency then it's worth it. Fortunately she is slowly coming around to the carrying a real gun thing. Still, this is a functioning stun gun and even with a sidearm makes a decent backup. For the low price it is totally worth it.

The main reason I purchased this was for the stun gun. The ability to recharge the stun gun and the flashlight was a plus. It never fails that when in need of a flashlight , my son would have taken the batteries for a remote or game controller.
The flashlight is very bright for the smaller size. Vipertek is a name I trust and have used before.
I ordered one in red and one in green.
Decided to give the red one to my adult son to keep by the bed at night in...just in case ;)
Very happy with the size , locations of on /off and stun buttons.
Fits all size hands well. Hope I never have to use the stun gun but an extra flashlight around the house is always a good idea.
