A/C stops working in May, in Miami, in record heat. Wife just comes out of 6 day stay at Hospital needing cool/dry place for recovery. Murphy being a bad dude. Thank god for youtube and Tradepro, a $200+ bill turns into a $17 one (plus the $3 i paid for overnight, gotta love amazon). 5 minutes to install, A/C works like a charm again.

When disconnecting old capacitor, it could still contain a charge so check for charge and discharge if necessary.

On a side note, my A/C unit is a Goodman, just 3.5 years installed. 10 year warranty they told me. Except at no point does it include labor, not even if it breaks 1 week after install. Parts are only covered if you go through a licensed contractor, and you only get 10 years if you register the product within 60 days (which the installer does not tell you), else its 5 years. Lesson of the day ? do not buy Goodman. Last time i trust my "friend".

This capacitor appears to be serving my needs. I really needed a 60 & 5 uF, but this one was available with fast shipping. The diameter of this unit under the top rim is `2-3/8 inches. My original was a 2.5 inch and rested in a hole with that diameter. I just cut a 2-3/8" hole in a canned good lid w/rim still attached for rigidity, and it worked fin. Remember, you can easily test your capacitor with a multimeter that tests capacitance. The symbol looks like this -| (-.

Unlike me, always buy a capacitor that equals or exceeds what is recommended and when you install it, turn it so that the label faces out.

Our A/C died on us in 117 degree weather. Did a little research and found this capacitor to match for our original unit. Simple swap and bam! Back in action. Quality is good and a bit more compact than the original.

Thank you Amazon for next day shipping! Phoenix, AZ in July is not when you want your AC to go out. At around 6pm the compressor for our upstairs zone stopped working so the AC fan was just circulating warm air. I noticed that when the thermostat tried to kick on the compressor I would hear a click but it wouldn't fire up, although the fan would kick on. I called an 24x7 AC repair shop who said, since it didn't trip the breaker, it sounded like the capacitor went bad. I didn't want a big charge for an emergency visit at night and didn't want to fight to get on the schedule during the day so I turned to Amazon. I replaced the old cap050500370rt capacitor with this one and it only cost $20. Can't go wrong. I'm going to order a few more and keep them in the garage.

I live in the Arizona desert so A/C is a necessity. Our capacitor blew in early May of 2017 and luckily my neighbor had a spare so I used his and bought this as a spare. Ended up giving this one to another neighbor a month later when his blew. The one I got from my neighbor has already blown again but this one is still running strong, albeit at someone else's house.
