this is a good set of basic brushes. It says professional, but really its a nice student set. the expensive brushes really are in a different class.

they would be good for travel use, if you don't want to risk losing your very expensive brushes, and a nice gift for someone who would like to try brush painting.

These brushes are beautiful and lightweight. So far I've only used 1 of them, but I've been very pleased and impressed with how well they hold and distribute the watercolor paint. There were some bristles that fell out at inopportune moments while I was working, but only about 5 bristles came out and now it seems to be done. I'm sure the other brushes will have the same issue, but it's a small inconvenience to deal with it doesn't change my opinion on the brushes.
