This is the best leash ever! I have a 60lb pit mix that has (had) a pulling problem. I went to training with him and our trainer had me use a Gentle Leader collar with a 6ft leash. What a difference that made...

However, when I DO need to correct him with a quick yank and that "tsst" sound (you know the one - you always hear Cesar Milan do it on his shows) I wasn't always able to execute the correction as swiftly and with as much force as I needed to (and like my trainer could) all due to the lack of strength in my left arm. I was always having to wrap the lease around my left hand close to my dog to get a firmer grip. This would hurt my hand, and honestly wasn't very comfortable to walk that way. I kept saying "I wish I had a leash with two handles" and then decided to search for one since it seemed I can't be the only one that has ever thought that!

This leash solves all my issues! I love the extra security it gives me, knowing I have him close when I need it (short handle) and can let him roam and explore when he needs it (like when sniffing out the perfect spot to go). I have NO problems walking him now and can easily correct him when I need to.

Plus it also works as a two person leash, allowing me to hold the shorter handle, while my husband holds the farther one, and we get to hold hands in between! I have even used it to train my son how to walk with the dog, with him holding the shorter handle and me holding the longer handle. This way if my son stumbles, I still have control and can jump in.

I've spent hundreds of dollars on collar/leash sets for my my doggie over the years and have tried many brands. I've recently become the temporary dog mom to two more dogs...side note: one dog is ideal, two dogs are manageable and three dogs are just insane. So the two new dogs are avid pullers and actually broke the clasp of a leash. Kong is pretty good with durable leashes and the padding is nice but $30 x 2 is not in my budget at the moment. This leash is just as durable and more comfy than the kong traffic leash in my opinion and half the cost.

I walk three dogs twice a day for a total of four miles. My hands were beginning to ache because the nylon and (knots to shorten the leashes) from the previous leashes were killing my hands.

This is day two and after eight miles I literally heard my hands say thank you!

Nice padded grips and very tough. Only problem I had is the metal clip that you push with your thumb to attach the clip to the collar broke after only 11 months. For how well built everything else is on this I would have expected it to last a little longer then 11 months.

Previously I used a 6' leash and would tie a loop at the 3' mark to keep the dog under closer control...she tends to get very excited to go play with squirrels and cats (yeah, right) and the hand loop at 3' made it easier to get her back into a calm state. With the Primal Pet Gear leash, I get the best of both........6' to keep her from getting under my feet and <3' for closer control. The leash is well made and sturdy enough to handle her puppy like interest in things (she is not a service dog). The handle loops are comfortable even with a dog who likes to pull when she sees a human she wants to be new best friends with, a good thing, especially since she really adores kids. I would recommend this leash.

This is a wonderful leash. The two handles are amazing - I'm a small woman with a big Berner (110lb), and the shorter handle is great for when she can tug at me. We weigh about the same, and I'm always worried she will take off when something catches her eye, and this leash makes me the most comfortable to walk her alone. I keep one handle around each wrist and I can totally control her. The handles are also SO comfy - they are padded with squishy foam-like material, and don't bother you at all to hold. No rope burn with this leash! The only downside of this? My dog chewed through the leash entirely in 4 minutes. Yep. I understand the chewing is my dog's problem and not the leash's problem - it is a great leash! However, for a 'heavy-duty' leash and the price I paid, I would expect it to hold up a little better than this. Regardless, it's a great leash - just make sure your pup isn't alone with it for too long! :)

EDIT: This company has a WONDERFUL guarantee/warranty. I emailed the company and after sending them a picture of the ruined leash and showing them my Amazon invoice/receipt, they without question shipped me a replacement absolutely free. I didn't have to send my old one in, did not have to pay for any shipping. They did this FAST, too - within 3 days I had the replacement. Wonderful company, 100% recommend and would buy again (both this item and from this company!)
