I have to say these clips worked better than the clips that came with the application pole. However I found the process to more difficult than just going up with a ladder and just clipping these on the gutters by hand. Was easier and quicker. Not sure I would bother with the pole if I had to buy it again.

We have purchased these clips from store where husband works but they are already sold out (it's only Nov). Husband says he really likes these clips and it is easy to install Christmas lights on house. The clips were more expensive to purchase online but we didn't want to go to other stores and risk not finding this brand and type of clips.

These snap-on clips work very well when installing long strings of Christmas lights around the exterior of your house. They are designed to snugly fit onto the bottom of your roof eaves (not the gutters) and holding the line in place. I didn't use the optional pole so don't know how that works.
