Watch the video first. It answers a lot of questions, like, "No, you can't use a screwdriver." And "Yes, pre-drill".
I used it with an existing leaf guard. Backed one of the screws from the leaf guard out (and used that for one of the 4 holes on the splash guard installation). Then just use a fine tip sharpie or flare pen to mark the remaining three holes. Pre-drill through both the screen and the gutter. Line things back up - and mount with the screws provided.
I opted not to use silicone - overtime, dirt and grime stick to it and you can't clean it off. Besides, I am looking to stop the blunt waterfall that's happening where my valley dumps into the gutter. A few drips wont bother me.
I think this is a simple and easy to install solution!

These were pretty expensive for what they are, but they worked really well and were worth it. We had water pouring over our gutters and gutter guards and these stopped that immediately and all the water went into the gutters just how it should. We will buy these in the future if needed for other spots around the house, despite the high cost.
