When it wasn't broken it worked perfectly as advertised. Switching channels was very easy whether the water was on or off and installation was very simple.
When I went to remove it and transfer to a different part of the house the connector snapped off. After looking inside, I could see that the inside was plastic and not very strong.

Much Better Quality Than Typical Y Connectors

Excellent hose fittings and smooth flow adjustments. The internal diameter is Larger for much better flow rates than most Y connectors. If any male threads are a bit rough for tight fittings, a light steel wool prep will easily smooth them out.

This works great for watering a big yard that has water needs in many different directions. Water pressure is significantly less when both valves are open of course. We have 300 feet of hose hooked up to it and it works great.
