You get what you pay for.

First of all this product was well packaged, priced low and it was easy to connect to my computer to convert a cassette tape to an MP3 file. I didn't use the disc that came with it, I downloaded Audacity and Lame from the internet. I have used Audacity in the past so that was a breeze.
The tape player is lightweight because it is almost all plastic, it feels cheap and I doubt it would survive a drop even from a very low height. The player did not work, I opened the case very carefully and found that the negative wire was not soldered to the spring. I stripped a bit more wire and tightly twisted it to the spring. I didn't want to risk soldering it as the wire is very thin and if that didn't correct the problem I could return it. After that repair it worked perfectly fine.
I needed to convert a tape for an upcoming trip and didn't really have time to wait for the return/replacement process. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. I will keep this and hope it lasts. I will handle it with care.

I paid about $20 bucks for the product and have been happy with the purchase.

Works well. As expected, very flimsy plastic construction, but for the price - that was a given. Plays well with no noticed transfer of interference so far. I have only transferred 2 tapes to computer so far (about 2 hr & 20 min of recording) but am very satisfied with the unit's operation and performance. I paid about $20 bucks for the product and have been happy with the purchase.
AWESOME DEVICE!

OMG! This little device is awesome. My father made recordings of birthdays and Thanksgiving dinner in 1954 on wire recordings, then in the early 1970's he transferred those recordings to cassette tape. Now I am able to transfer those tapes to CD with this device and give copies to the remaining relatives that were in these early recordings. My sister who was 4 at the time, is now 67, my mother and grandmother who have long since passed but whose voices I can recognize is actually a little eerie to hear these now. Still, I am glad I purchased this device instead of the component one I was considering that over a hundred dollars. Thanks!
Not made for longevity.

Good for limited use I guess. Did great while it worked. Easy plug and play. Transferred maybe 2 dozen tapes and it is already broken. Of course I am past the return window. Should have spent a few more dollars and got better quality I guess.
Not sure if I was just the lucky one

Looks good but Came fast but it doesn't work the play button doesn't stay down you have to hold it down the entire time the headphones came semi broken waist of money unless u have head phones and don't mind using a rubber band to hold the play botton this was a gift to my kids for their phonics tapes
