The issue I have with this is that the two 'modes' (breakaway and locked) don't exactly function. I mean that when set to 'breakaway' the locking tab doesn't rise enough top hold the mount on the helmet. When set to 'locked' it barely rises enough to set in place (functioning as the 'breakaway' mode). When I compared this with a real nvg mount, the tab that locks in place rises much higher for a secure lock. I still gave it three stars because it's for a cosplay costume and I can attach it permanently to the helmet with screws and its much cheaper than buying a 400 dollar mount.

I actually use this mount for operational NVG's My agency doesn't issue the mounts so I was trying to save some $. I was surprised at how sturdy they are. Now, we'll see how well they hold up over a long period of time. Full disclosure, we don't use NVG's daily or on every operation. I used some "lock tight" to secure some weak points but we'll see.

It won't attach to the helmet and it won't hold anything, and if you wait too long to figure this out, hoping you can make it work, you'll be disallowed to return for a refund.
