Watkins has been in the extract business for as long as I can remember. My mother & grandmother before her used it & I'm sure my daughter uses it, also (as well as my son). They always make a high quality product & this was no exception. It's a lot less expensive & more economical than the real thing & there isn't that much difference in the taste. I'll definitely keep using their extracts. Great buy.

Recommended after taste tests by America's Test Kitchen.That's why I bought it. Apparently, this brand was on top and is better to use than real vanilla for anything where heat about 375 degrees is involved. (most baking!) real vanilla is preferred when used in non-cooked items like puddings.
Why buy imitation vanilla?

I ordered this imitation vanilla extract before I realized that it was "imiation". I didn't really need it because after it arrived I found a much larger bottle of real Watkins vanilla extract in my spice cupboard.

I made a mistake in buying this by not reading the ingredients. I saw the phrase "all natural" heading at the top above the bottle, even though the actual box doesn't say it and decided to buy it because I just believed what I saw. Take a closer look like I should have. So are "artificial colors" and "propylene glocol" natural? I'm not going to buy anything else from Watkins. I can't trust them.
Perfect for non-baked items.

I use this when making frosting or any other non-baked items because it does not leave the "alcohol" taste behind. My cakes and cupcakes are so much better now because the frosting has improved so much. I will keep this Vanilla on hand all the time now.
