Good basic set, but could use better safety guidelines and more descriptive instructions.

Would be a perfect kit if it had a better quality stand for the hot iron. Getting the iron to stay put when not being held is a balancing act. The cord is too stiff and heavy compared to the iron. Plus, after being bound up in the case the cord seems sort of spring loaded. Therefore, making it more difficult to get the iron to easily rest/balance on the stand since one must struggle with the cord to keep it from wrestling the iron out of the stand. This is a safety issue.
Also, my kit had really poor directions, not well illustrated like the one shown in the listing photo. The case it comes with is good quality. Though, my case had no padding as displayed. It helps a lot to already know how to use a soldering iron, because this kit, though many have touted as a good beginner's set, does not provide enough information to learn.
I would highly recommend this kit for students that have lite soldering work as part of their curriculum. It is a very good basic set and overall a good value.

It did the job! It worked exactly for what I need it for (circuit board). It looks great and you could honestly say that this product is not for all day everyday use, it's more for the DIYers (Do It Yourself). That things it comes with are nice except the tweezers, they could be a little bit stronger for a better grip, also the plunger has good suction but I felt it needed more suction. over all for the price and material and all I gave it a 4 because its great for what you pay. I wasted 25 bucks on this tool and some other material i needed to fix my refrigerator main control board, in comparison to 220$ for the board itself. Great Product For Beginners!!!

This is a nice kid, and I really like the way it looks and how it fits into the case. The case is of good quality as well. It's not real large, so I didn't have any trouble finding a spot for it in my garage. It's a nice range of materials, and I think it will do the trick for me. Of course I would recommend that you watch some YouTube type videos to get familiar with how to solder. I think most people will be happy with this as an introductory level kit.

Great little kit for someone who just needs a soldering gun occasionally or is just learning and doesn't want to shell out a pretty penny on a kit. I used it to wire up some relay's for my car and some stereo equipment and it worked great. Now I won't have to ask my friends to use theirs everytime I need one.
