This product absolutely works as advertised. There's nothing like a REAL wood fire on a cold night. Sure, a gas fireplace is easier to turn on, turn off, and maintain, but let's be honest - there's no comparison between that and a real fire. We bought a house with a wood fireplace a couple of years ago and were planning to put in a gas insert until a friend showed me this stuff and I totally changed my mind. Here's what I love about it:
1) It's easy - It really is. The website has a video that shows you how to do it. When you first hear about this, it looks like it might be complicated, but it really isn't. You simply:
- Squeeze the oil into the tube (up to the fill line)
- Put the stone in roll it around for about 10 seconds
- Place the stone in your pile of logs (again, watch the video on the website - shows you exactly how)
- Light it up and in 10-12 minutes the fire will be roaring.
2) I don't need ANY other kindling. Seriously - you just put the stone in with the logs and 10 minutes later you have a fire that stays lit.
3) It's reasonably priced. For most people, there's enough in one bottle to last you an entire winter so you get a lot for your money. I happen to burn more often than most, so it takes me a couple of bottles, but it's well worth it.
This is seriously a great way to get a fire started (and keep it going). I totally recommend it.

Easy and safe

Easy and safe! No more mounds of paper, just soak the stone and pile up the wood. The chimney sweep recommended this product to prevent build up in our chimney and I love it!
