Mounted to 2021 Polaris Sportsman 850

Did not use any of the provided hardware as my SPortsman has a flat rack with nothing to mount a ubolt to. Also did not want to use the lock and ride compression fittings to mount this as I heard they can wear out over time and release. I ride hard and do not want my passenger to go flying on a dangerous part of the trail. Purchased (4) 3-1/2" 3/8" dia threaded bolts - they did not have 3" but in hindsight I think i could have used 2-1/2", (12) large 3/8" dia washers, and (8) matching nuts. Had to remove the 4 latching angle mounts on my back rack as this sits on them. (Put them in the holding compartment inside back rack for later re-use if desired)Put the back seat on the rack to get an idea how this would best position. You want to cover the rear two 1" lock and ride holes as well as two of the other holes. The very front two holes will not be usable as they are under the raised hand grips. Took off the back rack from my Sportsman which is very easy to do with about 8-10 screws (including two inside the storage compartment). Turned the rack upside down and placed it on the seat which was upside down on the ground. Adjusted the position so that its central and all 4 holes covered. Drilled 4 3/8" holes using each 1" hole as a guide. Then mounted the bolts to the rack through those holes with the head at the bottom, a washer, the rack, another washer and a nut so the remaining bolt thread poked up through the rack. Tightened these bolts down well. Remounted the rear rack on the ATV. Placed another washer over the exposed nut and bolt so its a flatter surface for connection to the seat. Placed the seat over the threaded bolts (second pair of hands may help here) and I did have to drill a little to enlarge a bolt hole in the seat to make one go through. Placed the last washer on each bolt and screwed down the final nut. Appeared very secure. (Also mounted the 2 raised foot pegs by Black Boar in the foot wells - these are definitely needed.) Went riding this past weekend and both my gf and myself sat in the rear seat on some tough trails and the seat held up well. Pretty comfortable and the hand grips were useful to stabilize yourself, but the foot pegs were needed to push yourself off the the driver at times. Highly recommend!

I have been looking for a cargo box to go on the back of my 4wheeler. My neighbor invited me on a fundraising ride and he had one on his. There were a few other 4wheelers that had this product so I would say it is popular. I think it looks good too. This product is not designed to turn a one person ATV into a two person. As in it's description it states, "Lounger for use while NOT in motion". I bought this as a cargo box not to bring along another person. I like that it locks to prevent theft and the lid has two elastic cords to hold it shut. The lid also has a raised lip inside to keep the rain out. However, I am not sure that the handholds or the lid hing point will keep out the rain. The description says it is water resistant not water proof. So, if you are one of those people that like to go through deep watery holes, beware. It looks like they changed the design from rubber latches to elastic cords on the lid in case they break. Now they are easily replaceable using bungy cords cut to length. I have an Artic Cat which uses the speed lock system. I originally wanted to use 4 speed locks to hold this in place so I could quickly remove it when not in use. I could only get the two rear locks to line up. The two forward locks were to close to the sides of the cargo box so I decided against. I went with two fasteners made for the speed lock system that came with a 6" rail I got and replaced them with speed locks. They consist of a bolt, lockwasher, backing plate and, nut. See picture. I am going to buy longer bolts because they do not thread far enough into the nut for my liking. These fasteners I placed at the back two holes for the speed lock system. As for the U-bolts, I also had to buy longer ones because I kept the plastic deck for the speed lock system mounted to the rails. I put the U-bolt on the angled bar so they came up through the outside edges of the cargo box in the middle. See picture. Yes I messed up when I drilled but I will fix the holes with JB weld. With all the fasteners tightened down the cargo box is good and secure. If your like me, I was hesitant about using the speed lock deck because it is made out of plastic. But after I watched a video on YouTube I changed my mind. They attached rails on the front and back of a machine with each rail held in place by two speed locks on each side. Then using straps attached to the rails, they hoisted the entire 4wheeler off the floor. I think they are strong enough for this application. After mounting the lounger on my machine I go on it and tested out the seat. It felt like I was leaning/sliding forward. This is because the speed lock deck has a slight slant to it which is not the fault of Black Boar. The seat of my machine is under the cushion on the lounger. Since it is only held on with quick snaps I will remove it an see how that feels. When I grabbed the handholds on the lounger I felt uncomfortable because my arms were too far back. I am 6' 2" tall so I am sure that had something to do with it. This was just made for someone smaller then me like a young child. I know people use these so they can carry an extra person on their machine to go riding even though it was not designed for that as stated in the product description. It is my opinion that if the extra person is an adult not to do it because they will more the likely be uncomfortable. However, if you have young children not old enough to have their own ATV it is perfect. This reminds me of that saying. "A family that plays together, stays together". In closing I wanted to say I gave this product 5 stars across the board. It does everything I wanted and as the manufacturer states. I really like the look of it on my machine. Yes I had an issue mounting it on my machine but I found a solution. There are a lot of people that have had issues and have written reviews here. Some of them had really good ideas so read them before you buy so you understand exactly what your getting. If you are looking for something like this that fits perfectly with no issues, buy from the manufacturer of your machine. That is if they even make it. If they do I guarantee you will pay a lot more.
Great product for ATV

This ATV lounger and storage serves its purpose well. It fit my ATV perfectly! I have two suggestions to the manufacturer. Please include a template of the underside so it will be easy to line up U bolts to make the holes to secure it. I had to use the cardboard and push holes from the bolts sticking up from my ATV rack and poke holes in it by pressing down as the bolts popped up. From there I transferred the holes onto the bottom of the unit. One additional suggestion is to provide retaining clips so the u bolts stay in place when you go to place the unit over them and place the bolts through the holes. A last suggestion is to provide rubber thread protectors or caps so the bolts don't scratch what you put into the unit! Overall, a great product!

Reasonably easy to install and doesn't cost as much as an iphone . Good for the price. Only complaint is that it doesn't fit a helmet inside.
