Multi tester for any components you have, resistance, capacitance, inductance, transistors, diodes, voltage, frequency, etc.
Roaster•February 15, 2018
I built the tester with no trouble and it worked on the first try.
Amazing that it can discriminate what components are in the slot so well.
The documentation on line is vital to understanding the calibration/self test procedure.
One little problem with how it operates, and it's baffling why after seeing how capable it is reading transistors. The bleeding voltage tester reads zero v if the polarity of the test leads is wrong. It actually doesn't have the capability to show -vdc, and that can fool you.
Just make sure when testing voltage that you try both ways before deciding there's no voltage present.
The other weirdness is that the freq input is at the top instead of beside the voltage input.
All in all not too shabby.

Too bad junk supplier for 7550 +5V regulator
MJE•October 21, 2017
Unfortunately these are plagued by a bad supplier for the 7550 + 5V regulator. If the Chinese would weed out this kind of junk supplier all of us would benefit, otherwise, this is a great product. Tip: You can increase the accuracy by ensuring the 680 ohm and 470K ohm resistors are within 1% error. If you have access to a decent mutimeter, measure them before installing. The 680 should be < +/- 7 ohms and the 470K < +/- 4700 ohms. The closer these are to the correct value, the more accuracy you can attain.
Better than the other similar products

This is the best of the "transistor tester" microprocessor based devices that I have tried. It is more flexible since it has other functions such as the frequency generator and voltage measurement and the overall menu structure is superior to others that I have tried. I had a problem with one of the kits and missing parts which the seller fixed (but with a 3 week shipping time). The case is a bit tedious to put together but once you figure it out, it works OK. I would suggest buying this particular model over other such devices.

Working GREAT!
I was a bit concerned by some of the earlier reviews and the power transistor. Looking up spec's I can easily see why at times others have had issues and once assembled I was shocked. It didn't turn ON! :(
I metered out things on the circuit to ensure I was accurate and not being a total newbie to the game; all my assembly and soldering were spot on. I was loading up the RETURN page for this item when I leaned forward and happened to plunge the potentiometer down. It came to LIFE!
Nowhere in the reviews here nor online related to this 'type' indicate the power is on the pot and I feel a bit stupid now not even thinking about it prior to my happy accident but those who might feel they have a 'dud' just make sure you're powering it on! Depress the pot for power on.

so using a multimeter like I did to measure each resistor is strongly recommended

Assembled in about 1 1/2 hours, no assembly instructions included but you don't really need them. All parts are clearly labeled on the board where they should go, except for the polarity of the LED (square pad is +, so put the longer LED lead into the square hole). And don't be scared when you plug in the power cord & nothing happens, push down on the knob to turn the board on.
-1 star for not including a parts list to confirm I had everything (I did) & not labeling any of the resistors. Decoding the new 5 color band system is a PITA & not always accurate because you can read them backwards, so using a multimeter like I did to measure each resistor is strongly recommended. Which is ironic because measuring resistors is one of the functions of this kit.
