How did I ever live without this thing?!

I debated long and hard about getting the F50 or the F80. I've spent the entire 2017 season building all kinds of projects and I have needed an oscillating multi tool a couple of dozen times. I'm on a very limited budget so I've always found a work around. But doing so always made things far harder and take far longer than they would have, had I had this tool.
So I decided to bite the bullet and get one. I was going to buy the Harbor Freight/Chicago Electric el cheapo one for $25. But I knew this is a tremendously useful tool and didn't want to degrade the experience by just going for cheap. The Porter Cable solutions sound about as "robust" as the HF/CE solution, so if I was willing to spend the money required to get a Porter Cable, I knew I might as well just buy Rockwell.
The F30 was limited, although at a nice price point. The F50 had a lot of recent negative reviews, but sounded like it would probably get the job done. The F80 got such high praise (and basically no substantial negative reviews) that I ponied up the cash.
I'm so glad I did! The additional blades and case were wonderful, but the tool is fantastic! I've used older Dremmels for almost 20 years. They are insanely loud compared to the F80. I can't believe how little it vibrates at any speed! It's comfortable and surprisingly light.
The first time I used it I was cutting pieces of lath. I used the slowest speed and - while I am a habitual user of hearing protection - it was so quiet I didn't put on the ol' ear muffs. Now I would recommend users always use hearing and eye protection! But I thought it was an interesting data point that it was THAT quiet.
I've used this for cutting several times since. It's amazing how precise it is with the 3.4 degree setting! I was shocked at how easily and precisely it can do plunge cuts as well. It helps to score your cut with one of the rigid round blades first if you want to make use of one of the straight blades in the bulk of the cut (the Japanese blade can clear sawdust quickly so you can do deep cuts fast with it - but it doesn't start a plunge with a lot of precision).
There are only two reviews that complain about a failure after 3-6 months. The reviews give no details so who knows how "defective product" and/or "operator error" factored in those failures. However this comes with a 3 year warranty so both of those failures would have been covered.

A-1 in all categories. Product, Price, Packaging, Delivery. I have had a Rockwell Sonicrafter since they were first made. It outperforms all the other oscillating tools I've seen.
Durable. Mine old one has lasted for over a decade under heavy use and it was the low end home use model.

A versatile tool I'm glad to have in my shop

I bought this after my father showed me his oscillating tool. I have been extremely pleased with this purchase. I have used it for cutting solid wood, plywood, metal piping, and drywall. I've also used it for light sanding. It has performed well in all cases. The included attachments all seem to be high quality, and the case is actually useful. Most tool cases are just plastic boxes, but this one organizes the blades and accessories. The adjustable speed has been great for cutting steel exhaust pipe. I also appreciate the adjustable angle of oscillation. This feature controls how far your blade moves from side to side, which determines how aggressive the cut is. The tool-less blade change has been nice, but it feels like I might break it. So far so good, as I am 4 months in and no issues. The LED might be helpful in some cases, but I haven't had a good application for it yet. Overall, I would buy this tool again. It is precise, flexible, easy to use, and tackles problems that normally require breaking out the big tools or the hand tools.
