Great useful tool for the IP - use 2 to remove pots or wire racks

This pot gripper 2-pack is on my "must have" list for the Instant Pot. I have used this many times to remove pots inside the main IP bowl (pot-in-pot cooking) or even remove the IP bowl itself while hot. Some recipes call for removal right after quick release because you need to stop the food from overcooking. I have also used it to remove the various wire racks. In short, this is a very useful took and pretty much a necessity because I don't know how else you would get the pots out. This is probably better than the "tin foil hammock" method because you can squeeze the grips and use both to balance the item like the heavy main pot with food inside. Also I can envision this being used for other purposes in the kitchen like taking off pan lids that have gotten really hot from the stove or oven.
That being said, this is not a perfect product. I would call this "the best that's out there," not the best possible product. The grippers are curved a bit so you can usually only line them up one way with the pan you are moving. It might take a minute to figure out the best method to grip. If you do it wrong or don't get a good grip, the pot you are moving will fall and spill everywhere. (This has not happened to me but I worry it will.) I think the curve is helpful because your pots are curved, but it just makes it a bit awkward. Also, the grip itself is not the greatest. The rubber pieces inside the metal are not secured very well. I would not use this product to move hot pots containing food very far - only from the IP to my stove or sink. Overall, this is probably a fairly cheap product (which the price reflects), but I don't know of anything better.
My order came with 1 black and 1 blue gripper. They have a small metal ring at the bottom to keep the handles closed for easier storing.

Fits almost all pans except those smaller than 6 inches

Good product. The steamer that came with my pressure cooker was not as big as this one
When you compact it it is 6 inches in diameter. When fully expanded it is 10.5 inches in diameter. You dont have to expand it fully so you can fit it in a pot smaller than 10.5 inches.

Better than hot pads

I just got s new insta pot and these came bout the same time. I have used the gripper on many kitchen items too hot to handle. These are better than a pot holder. The grip is good for taking things out of the microwave.. they work great but the quality is not the best, that's why I gave them 4 stars.
A must have accessory with the IP!

These are great for removing the inner pot from the IP when I'm cooking and it's hot. I'm sure I will be using these for many years to come. A must have accessory with the IP!

I recommend these especially for use with the pot in pot method of cooking with Instant Pot. It is too awkward to get any other type of potholder down in there to lift out the separate cooking pot. These work great. Quality seems sturdy like they will last forever.
