I work as a security guard and this helps me stay warm underneath my guard jacket. It has a fleece lining, so it's soft inside and out. I've used the hood in the rain and it didn't seem to seep through. This jacket is pretty warm, even on it's own. Great for layering, too. The arm pockets are roomier than expected. I can keep a notepad in there.
It did have an a kind of manufactured odor when it came, but it wasn't too overpowering. Once I washed it, the smell went away. The only real issue I have with the jacket is that the sleeves are too long. I think it's for the thumb loops, but I never use them, so it ends up just being really long sleeves. The jacket feels roomier than a usual medium, but when I look in the mirror, it looks fitting.
It also comes from China, so expect a long shipment.
