Not impressed at all with the build quality of this torch. Nothing precise about it other than it's fit on the butane canister, which to say the least is rather important. There is some play in the fit of the barrel into the plastic housing which instills a sense of fragility to the whole apparatus, but the worst issue is the 3/8"-1/2" of free rotational play in the plastic flame adjustment ring situated at the base of the barrel. I have no experience with any other maker's torch, but if this is the best, I'd hate to see the worst. Not worth the price even if it has longevity.

Bought this right over a month ago and went to use it last weekend. The flame is very bushy and distorted and now I can't return it because it is past 30 days. Bummer!

I don't know if the Iwatani Pro torch I received is defective or if I should have ordered the Iwatani Pro 2 because with in two months since I received the torch, the igniter does not consistently work and I can see gas spraying out while I try to get the torch lit. When I first received the torch, when you turn the gas on and pull the trigger, it worked. Now I need to find a torch that consistently works. Another chef has the Iwatani Pro 2 and likes it, says he's never had a problem like this. The shame of my experience is the expiration for returning the torch I bought was after one month, and I have only used it for two months.
