I really wanted to try this cat litter mat, because the old one we had was useless. It had fibers that stuck up, and was apparently not comfortable for my cats to walk on, because they would actually walk on the moulding on the edge of the closet door in order to avoid walking on their cat litter mat. When I saw the description of the mat, which promised to be soft, I decided to order. I ordered the blue, and was very pleased with the color. It's very close to the color of our bathroom tile, and I had just purchased a new blue litter box, so it all coordinated nicely. Unbelievably, our bathroom rugs also have this pattern, so the cat litter mat is very aesthetically pleasing. The size is good, exactly the width of the floor next to the closet where we keep the litter box, although the box we use is so large, that I needed to pull the rug out to the edge of the wall so that the litter box is not fully on the mat in back, but that was needed in order to give the cats part of the mat to walk on to wipe their paws after using their litter box. It would be nice to have an even longer mat in this width so the area the box sits in could be completely covered, but since the cats don't exit their box out the back, I'm not knocking off a star for this. The cats very obviously approved. Both of them were in the bathroom while I was installing the mat, and both of them immediately checked it out. They use it all the time, and I no longer see them walking on the closet door moulding. It really does what it's supposed to. There is still litter on the floor, but it is much reduced. My housekeeper says the amount of litter in other places of the house is also reduced. I do have a suggestion for the manufacturer, and anyone thinking of buying the blue mat. The color of the large swatch is not accurate. The actual color of the mat is closer to the inset pictures showing the cat. The manufacturer should retake the photo for the swatch. I ordered the blue as an experiment; if the color had been wrong, I would have exchanged it for the gray one. I was very pleased that the color was the lighter blue of the inset photos, and not the dull color of the swatch.

Recently I have moved. It was, as usual, very stressful. Like children, if I multiplied my adult stress by 100+, I would understand my cat's stress. Perfect behaviorially for 15 years - until after the move, my best buddy began to stand up while relieving himself. The back "wall" of his litter box was not a thing of glory; it smelled no matter what I did. Further, it dripped outside the box in one specific place onto a wood floor. We have tried EVERYTHING except replacing the offended wood planks. Any ideas cat lovers? We have tried Nature's miracle and Planet Urine. Anyway, a smaller, open box was the fix. After stepping over this box in my bathroom, and cleaning the errant litter from and around the box for a month, I moved the box, reluctantly, into my bath/shower. I thought a mat beneath the box would help the litter from spreading far and wide, so I ordered this mat. The mat is a great mat. The fibers are soft, and there are places galore for the litter to go - other than my bathroom floor. Nevertheless, after I ordered the mat and before I received it, there were two incidents where the small box was placed close to an end of the bathtub. And yes, the urine followed. So instead of putting the mat down, I sent it back. There is nothing underneath the litterbox now, and there is no more spraying. And I saved the mat from certain destruction. This company was kind, understanding, and makes a great product, and they graciously accepted my return of their mat. There was a negligable discoloration along one edge of the mat, but I figured, "Better a small discoloration versus destruction by urine." Unfortunately, the mat was too large to place outside my bath, so "the Prince" is now using my Wamsutta fuzzy bath mat as a litter catcher, and I had to send this great litter catcher back to Easyology.
The main reason I am writing this review, aside from recounting my cat woes, is that the Easyology company went out of its way to make sure I was happy, contacting me right away to see if the mat was working for me. There was no "push back" once I explained my concern about the mat's certain future destruction and edge discoloration (which was relatively insignificant in the larger scheme of things). I would have overlooked the discoloration if I didn't KNOW that the mat would be used by my cat for urination instead of catching litter. Easyology made things easy for me, and it is worth noting their EXCELLENT customer service; as well as a company that actually cares about customer satisfaction. Little explanation was needed - they understood right away. Sometimes these small moments of grace in the seller-buyer world, can make a tough time a little bit better. Life saver! I recently adopted a young male cat who tracked litter EVERYWHERE!
With the litter box being in my bedroom I'd wake up in the morning and step in litter. Not the best way to start the morning.
Previously when I had cats I used a mat similar that was about a quarter of the size of this one and was rounded. I knew that would not work for the little storm (his name is Stormy) that was barreling through my bedroom. I searched and searched for a mat that was big enough to cover the area he tracked litter through the most. I read the reviews and decided on this one. I was a little hesitant since some said it was hard to clean.
It is impossible to get every little piece of litter out, which is a little bit of a downfall. Every week I try to shake it out outside. Every other day or so I do a quick vacuum job over it with a handheld vacuum.
I've had this mat for a little over a month. It has not fallen apart or gotten clawed apart by little Stormy. He doesn't seem to mind it on his paws.
The look of this mat is great! I got this one in gray. It looks very decorative. I'm not embarrassed to have this out.
Overall I would recommend this. I'm sure there are plenty of higher quality mats out there, but at a higher price. For $20 I could not go wrong here! This mat has saved me hours of cleaning up after Stormy. No longer do I have to hunt down every tiny piece of litter. Most of it is all in one spot!
The company also included a free sample of liners and a coupon for $2.00 of my next order. The liners were nice but too big for my box, but I am definitely interested in finding the correct size!

OK it is about time I wrote a review on these seeing as I have purchased about 6 of them out of pocket because I like them so much. They have one MAJOR issue, but they are still the best mats out there right now honestly, so I just hope they read this and make some changes.

First the bad: If you have a pet that will pee on these mats, these are a pain in the butt to clean! As most of us know, cat urine smell is a nightmare to get out of things~ you have to get it all off quickly and give it a good soak with urine gone or something. These mats will SEEP THROUGH to the bottom padding which honestly feels like a coated foam of some kind to make it nice to step on, but urine can still get in there really good and it will seep through to the floor. This is made even worse by the fact that the mats are plush with the woven plastic texture, so you may go days before seeing that someone peed on the mat, I have to lift and check every few days to make sure but the color of the mat makes it hard to even see honestly.

PLEASE Easyology FIX THE BOTTOM!! these are great but give them something to prevent seeping through to the floor and making urine easier to wash away from that plush bottom part, a thicker layer of plastic coating or something maybe? Its such a minor thing to the design that could be fixed. These are made to go by a litter box so they should resist urine seeping in and all the way through the pad to the floor.

PLEASE Easyology MAKE MORE COLORS. Make a light pink or light blue! The colors are a good start, but a cute color please!!

PLEASE MAKE A LONG RUNNER SIZE! They are all a tad fat and wide, a runner style one would be great.

Now for the good!

These are hands down the nicest looking litter mats and overall plastic mats for a house if you are going through rugs too often, they can be hosed off and cleaned quickly if you make a spill. They are great for a rug that is plush feeling (yes, they are plastic but feel soft and plush on bare feet!) while still being plastic material.

I first got these for my disabled cat who has a hard time walking on anything not carpet. Throw rugs got filthy fast and he would pee on them right away so I would be washing things often and trash them monthly. Other litter mats looked so ugly and had cats or brand names on them... I just wanted a rug that would work. These are huge and he can walk on them easily, plus for my cat anyway he is not attracted to peeing on them 99% of the time (I keep ugly easy to spray off other litter mats around his pee zones for that since as I said these are hard to clean) but the BEST thing is they are very large and look almost like a proper rug so while my guest bathroom is still "cat land" it looks a little nicer with these rugs if I need to stash the litter box when company is here! If they were easier to wash I would get rid of my last ugly grey washable mats.

I liked these so much I bought one for my tile kitchen, I had rugs that would slide everyplace or get dirty after cooking, but the grey of these look really nice in the kitchen and are soft to stand on! I then when and got MORE for my washer/dryer area in the garage.

As if I had not bought enough, my elderly parents have all tile and due to throw rugs slipping and dirt had just trashed all kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room rugs.... so when I was home visiting I bought them new ones for the kitchen, outside the shower, under the sinks, and laundry area. Sure normal rugs look nicer, but these hose off and are less likely to make them slip so it worked out great.

Ok I have gushed enough about these stupid rugs, but they really are great for a number of reasons and are the least tacky option for many areas when you need this sort of thing!

I recently purchased the xlarge litter mat and am extremely satisfied with it. I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes. 1 of my cats is long haired & used to drag pieces of litter all over the house. The litter mat is big enough to cover 2 of the litter boxes & has reduced the amount of scattered litter drastically. I would definitely recommend this litter mat.
