I ordered two of these and almost sent them back. I was expecting a heavy-duty strap, more along the lines of seat belt material (my bad for not paying close enough attention to the description). These have very sturdy metal throughout the entire thing. It takes some muscle to get the loops bent to usable positions and to straighten the folded center part that runs from your foot to your hand. I have hip surgery coming up and have really needed something to help me get in and out of the car for about a year, now. I have been manually lifting my leg. I decided to try the first one before sending it back. Once I did, I realized why it needs the sturdy design, rather than a heavy duty strap I can roll up and toss in my purse, like I expected. It is a huge help! I decided to keep both, so I have one for the house and one in my car.
