It's plenty powerful at 5VDC and will work well for my application. I wasn't expecting anything great, the price indicated (at least to me) that the product was not of high quality. Not a tight beam pattern, kind of rectangular shaped beam. Don't expect HQ laser. You can expect a good general purpose laser suitable for applications where precision is not important.

You pay for a dirt cheap laser module and you get a dirt cheap laser module, it has no real current regulation only a single series resistor so make sure you dont go over 5v, at 5.5v mine fried
i had another one fry after about 2 hours of use but a couple other work fine
the dot is not that great or well focused
but seeing how you can get a laser module this cheaply that simply works is simply amazing and this is a fantastic thing to keep in your parts bin to pull out when you just need a laser for something

You get exactly what you pay for with these. Overall, most work, there's a small chance for some duds. Fairly bright, too. But yeah, the wires are abit cheap and flimsy on these. They are also fairly easy to remove, so must be handled carefully.
