This stuff is fantastic! I'm so glad I read the other reviews because my first experience with it went perfectly. To wit:

-wear gloves
-condition your hair afterward (even the salon does this after processing so don't complain about it feeling like "straw" if you didn't condition)
-make sure you have highlights or bleached hair for it to show

I actually like this for my highlights rather than going to the salon because I went to the salon, paid a bunch for a fantasy color, and it faded in like 2 weeks. I can use this all the time for extra dark purple or wash as usual for it to lighten a bit. It's really fun to play with! Get it!

I (believe) this is my first review of anything I've purchased, but this product is so amazing I just really felt I needed to! It has undoubtedly saved me loads of money on trips to the salon (which I am too lazy for anyway). You can see for yourself in the pictures how well it has worked for me. Bottom right is from April, the day I first got my hair colored at the salon. The photo on the left (with product pictured) is from May, and the the top right is from a week ago. I have not been to the salon since April, and have only used ONE BOTTLE of Extreme Purple Colorwash! My hair looks just as good (maybe even better, because the Colorwash shampoo has added extra purple to my non-bleached brown roots and created beautiful purple highlights) as the day I got it professionally colored.

I use this product 1-3 times a week (the purple does fade a bit if I only use it once a week, but it doesn't look bad) and just enough to create a nice lather. I leave it on for about 5 minutes, or however long it takes to shave my legs, then rinse in cool-ish water (I take super hot showers so it's probably more like warm/lukewarm water), and follow up with my regular conditioner. My hair is super soft and undamaged, just as if I had used my regular shampoo.

The shampoo doesn't dye my skin, but it will leave a purple stain in the tub the comes out pretty easily with vinegar and a washcloth.

Anyway, the point is I'm VERY impressed and IN LOVE with this shampoo â¤ï¸

Works very well and lasts quite a long time. It will stain your hands and your shower though so wear gloves and be careful not to spatter. What I do is put a blob of it on my hair and really work a lather and try to get as much of my hair saturated as I can, let is sit for a minute and then rinse it off. And the second you see any of this on your shower or curtain immediately rinse off; the longer it stays on any of the materials, the better chance it has to stain.

Wow this product is just amazing. I was a little skeptical when I first purchased it because I've never used something like this before but it works beyond what I could have ever expected. I use it every time I shower and it keeps my hair looking like I got it dyed the day before. I can't express strongly enough how blown away I am by this product and just how well it works. This dye job is now 3 weeks old and you can't even tell. Normally by this time my hair has faded almost all the way back to blonde, but it is still holding it's intense purple color, all thanks to this incredible shampoo.

Okay, so a bit of background: I alternate between having fairly bright purple hair and lavender hair, and I have tried many different types of purple shampoo in attempt to make my color last longer. They help prevent fading a bit, but they don't deposit enough color to really add any purple. I must say, this is a GREAT color depositing shampoo. It adds bright purple to the faded parts of lightened hair and even tinted my unbleached roots (I have darker blonde hair). I was surprised at how deep and bright the color is after only one wash (I left the lather on about ten minutes)!

The good: Great color! It definitely adds bright color in a short amount of time. I am very impressed with the vibrancy of color.

The bad: This is the most drying hair product I have ever used. I have bleached my hair multiple times, and it has never felt as straw-like as this product made my hair feel. I use a super moisturizing conditioner as well as two moisturizing after shower hair products so even after reading other reviews of how drying it was I thought my hair could handle it. My hair feels like it will break off at any moment after only one wash. The color is great and vibrant, but a bit more pink tinted than I would have liked. I prefer more blue/gray tinted purple, but that's my own personal opinion. I'm hoping I will be able to incorporate this shampoo into my hair routine every few washes, but I will never be able to use it regularly.
