Possibly a way to receive local channels and television programming....
William✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 5, 2017
I have ordered and received 3 of these type antennas. Two of them worked with one working excellently. I am able to receive 24 channels where previously I only got 4 channels with the set-top antenna. I am not sure what is ailing one. The area that I am trying to receive channels is obscured by trees and some buildings are possibly in the way for a direct shot for what the internet says is the best case scenario for aiming and receiving channels. In each case I have these two antennas at 33ft (3 X 11ft fence top rail.) There are a few semi local stations that are coming in on both the Amplified HD Digital as well as the set top rabbit ears. I am triangulating between Wichita, Tulsa, and OK City by about 90 miles each. I just haven't gotten the proper aim or the antenna's amplifier gain is lower on this particular antenna. Even though the units are mostly housed in Plastic, it appears to be durable and sunlight (UVA) resistant gray Polyethylene or Propylene plastic. The accompanying cable provided with the unit is of a good grade. I bought these 3 units to "cut-the-cable" and monthly fees at all 3 of these homes. I am planning on installing the 3rd one at the problem location to prove whether it is just the available reception or a problem with the unit. All-in-all these items, if they all perform should give me sufficient television to "cut the cable". I bought 3 of these antennas, mast poles and guy wiring for 3 installations and have one unit that is working fantastically and I have not yet tried installing the 3rd purchased antenna so I know that 1 is working super, 1 is marginal, and 1, I haven't installed yet. I still think that there should be roughly 20 channels available in each of the 3 locations which will provide a viable economic alternative to the cable that I was buying for the 3 locations monthly. Each antenna, mast and guy wires averaged $100 total each 1 installation as the antenna, mast and cabling were about $33ea. in each case totaling $100. I am hopeful that I can all 3 installs to work satisfactorily.
Good Reception but Poor Rotor

Normally I like this design and have good results. As far as pulling in a signal this antennae is good (if not great). I frequently receive signals more than 100 miles away. The pre-amp is certainly a must in digital antennas. The reason for two stars is simply - when I recieved the antennae the rotor didn't work out of the box. I was more or less expecting the rotor to quit soon after installation but I certainly wasn't expecting it to arrive DOA. That being said, if you don't mind turning the antenna by hand - it's a good antenna.
Mixed results so far and leaning towards a return...Update to 5 stars!

I received my Antenna on Wednesday and set it out this past weekend. It was very easy to assemble but I noticed two issue during this process. 1. One of the two nuts used to secure the antenna to a pole or base was not included 2. the motor used to rotate the antenna doesn't work.

I was able to put it up as I wanted to check the reception. I live north west of Atlanta and was hoping to get all the main stations using this. I am about 50 to 55 miles away from the furthest ones. While my TV is able to detect over 40 channels, I am so far only able to get the big 4 networks in the late evening or before 11 am. I haven't had time to fine tune it yet and not have the ability to rotate doesn't help.

If I can get customer service to respond and correct the two issues above, I will see if I can get it adjusted so I can pick up all the channels or not. If not, back she goes........

Update: October 4th 2017. I have to change my original 2 starts to 5. The response I recieved on my problems with my original antenna were addresses within days and with ZERO hassels!
I was also finally able to find tune the antenna two weekends ago and now get all four major networks plus about 35 other channels as clear as can be all day. I was even able to use the remote to postion it to bring in the last channel clearly. I am now hopeful it wont require any adjustments.
With all the storms and crazy weather we have receive this past month, it has done well.
If anything changes, I will be sure to make another update.
A follow up

It's now been over a year with this antenna and it is still receiving channels. I am half way between Charleston SC and Savannah GA but the Chas channels are tough to get. I only have it mounted 6' off the ground and have bought some pvc pipe to get it above my roofline and this should help quite a bit. One suggestion for people that have bought this and lost channels is to replace the cable. I bought the amazon basic cable and the signal strength Improved greatly (it's cheaper than buying another antenna) Like most, my rotating drive has failed because the motor they use is woefully undersized and I had found plastic chips jammed in the drive gear. All in all it does what I need and works even in a downpour, unlike our directv.
Wish I Would Have Purchased Sooner

Works excellent, great reception. Great value, priced good. Neighbor liked so much I think he also ordered one. Compatible with all our components, TV and DVR. Install was quick and easy. Picks up lots of local stations which are about 50+ miles from our home. Enough stations that it is like we have basic cable. Ditched cable TV years ago. I wish I had purchased this much sooner instead of struggle with indoor TV antennas. Well worth the money and then some! Purchased over a year ago and has worked flawlessly even in cloudy, stormy weather conditions.
