Good stuff!
The Jammer✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 21, 2023
I bought this to coat inner hull of an old wood boat project. When I read in the directions that you can use the penetrating epoxy as a "primer" for the fairing compound I started mixing little batches and using it everywhere. I wish I started my varnish coats with this stuff, my wood (mahogany plywood) was a little checked from years of sun and this would have filled it much faster then the many coats of varnish! I have some left over and I am going to use it on some of the trim on my house where the corners come together and the wood has gotten soft, so I can repaint it without worry of it soaking up water and pealing the paint!
Seals Well

This stuff is great, I used it to seal my new wood transom for my boat. It does penetrate pretty far into the wood, but I did 2 coats just to be safe. Only thing to keep in mind is it starts to cure after around 20 minutes or so, so you only have that much time to apply it.
Works great for porous wood

I have used it on a piece of driftwood burl slab that has areas of punk wood. It penetrates very well, leaves no color, plus you can dilute it with denatured alcohol to extend it or thin it even more.
Wear a carbon filter mask

While this may have low VOCs (it does have minimal odor) I find that it affects my lungs anyway. The next day or two after using, I feel sick like I have low grade bronchitis. I recommend using a carbon filter half mask respirator when applying this.

I have been using this to partially seal plywood prior to painting, and I have been happy with the results. I use some inexpensive 4" roller covers. And I thin one to one with isopropyl alcohol. I have also tried acetone and that works well too. On its own, this doesn't soak in as much as I want. I do wish this cured in a day instead of two. But overall I am happy with the product.
Very good product. Great absorption and strength.
