I bought this not for toddler use but for my personal use. My couch is high off the ground that my feet don't touch the ground. I bought this to have a foot rest and it works perfectly. I can easily pick it up with my feet and move it around to adjust the location if need be. It works really great and I am glad I bought it. The only down side is you can't use it to stand on. It's not very sturdy for adults. It bends in the middle really easily. Then again it really wasn't made for adults but it does make for a great foot rest.

We have this and a very portable potty seat (one with handles that we can remove and take anywhere), and another bigger more sturdy lader type seat. My 3 year old son prefers this one. He can put it and the seat in place, and use it on his own. Plus, this step doubles as a step for him to reach the sink faucet.
Although the ladder type seat we bought was more expensive, and it has a padded seat, we rarely use it. It sits on a toilet that noone uses, becuase it's so much harder to move on and off. My son can't move that one on his own.

We needed a couple to put in a rental property where an elderly friend was going to be moving in. She is short and also has knee issues so a taller step stool was out of the question. These support her just fine and are a good height to give her a little boost in the kitchen and in the closet.
IKEA used to make a step stool just like this, but has since stopped selling it (or is having supply chain issues). They're comparable to the IKEA version, except for the little plastic ring that goes in the finger holes. For some reason those are not part of the molded plastic, but are separate. I think they're there to make the edges of the holes smoother on your fingers and they can come loose or come off, but they aren't integral to the step stool working, so I haven't worried about it.
