Yay for rice krispies that a celiac can enjoy! Made with brown rice

Yay for rice krispies that a celiac can enjoy! Made with brown rice, the color is a touch darker than normal overall and there is a noticeable amount of black pieces in each bowl but they don't taste different than the rest. Compared to normal RK, this is missing that malty flavor but I don't mind. I use this a lot in gluten free breadings which adds a slight toasted flavor.
My kids love it

When my 3 year old had to be on gluten free diet, finding breakfast cereal for her has been a challenge. I am glad Kelloggs have the gluten free verion of rice krispies. In my opinion, they are a little harder to chew compare to the regular rice krispies. They don't have much sugar compare to other gluten free cereals, which is good for kids! I use that to make treats for the kids too. Amazon subscribe and save price is good too.
Very good!

I bought these so I can make rice krispie treats for my family. The treats turned out really really good and tasted almost like the original, non gluten free, cereal would of. I am also planning on using this to make my home made granola bars with my gluten free oats. I didn't actually eat this cereal with milk so I'm not sure how they would taste that way but for the krispie treats...you really couldn't tell the difference in taste. The color was a bit darker than normal but my kids never noticed!
Finally!

I missed Rice Krispies so much when I went GF. I tried the subsitute ones that are out there and just never liked them as much as the original Rice Krispies. I take away a star because of the BHT in it, but for taste and texture, it's top of the line. I also like the whole grain brown rice part. It's difficult to find whole grain anything when it is GF, so I am always on the lookout for whole grain products.

OK. OK. It says that already... but that's what makes it much better than ordinary Rice Crispies. I've been eating gluten free seven years. After my last celiac evaluation, upper and lower GI, and a Dr. that wanted to remove my 'silent' gallbladder, I gave up chocolate, alcohol (don't use much anyhow), caffeine (ditto.), carbonated beverages and wheat gluten. I reintroduced chocolate first, and the only thing I can't tolerate is gluten (acid indigestion, gas and diarrhea). Many cereals are gluten free; almost all Chex cereals, and of course Rice Crispies.. but these are crunchier, and not expensive when you buy a pack of four.
