I like the weight and design of this mat. The water does not cause it float around the sink like other cheaper mats. But the material does not lay flat, like previous versions of this exact product (which I had bought in stores). So I'm guessing the production or material quality is less than it once was. But it works better than others I've bought.

It is a total waste. It doesn't let the water go down the drain; the water pools around it and you have to lift the mat up to let the water go down the drain. I even cut a hold in the middle of the mat thinking maybe it would allow the water to go down the drain better. Didn't happen, the water on the outside of the mat continue to pool there and only the water on top of the mat drained, even then very slowly. A waste of money!

I bought the sink mats and divider. They match my granite and protect my stainless steel sinks. Not everyone owns a dishwasher and my mats do a good job protecting from scratches, etc. if washing tomato based sauces from pans, I remove as silicone can get stained from Tom. sauces. They are easy to clean and I like that they hide my screen catchers unlike some other models (no garbage disposal either).

This does not look like the picture. The photo shows it laying flat across the top of the sink divider but it does not. It slopes up from the middle so that it kicks up on both ends. It also smells terrible, I thought the smell might go away after a while but it does not. I am looking for another sink saddle that is clear and lays flat and hopefully does not stink.

The Interdesign #36800 12.5x16 Clear Large Sink Mat is real sink saver. We recently installed a new porcelain farmhouse sink and wanted to protect it from scratches due to my cast iron skillets and to protect my plates from breaking or chipping if not placed gently in the sink. It performs just as I hoped. It was slightly larger than my sink but that allows it to slightly roll up 2 of the walls of my sink which only provides that much more protection. I love the fact that the checkerboard design allows the water the flow freely down the drain but more importantly I was able to cut nice square holes just slightly larger than my drains so I don't have to remove the mat when I need to empty the sink. I do find myself having to remove the mat to clean the food particles that get caught underneath the mat but I believe that is to be expected with any sink mat. Being a clear mat it allows you to see thru it to know if you have left any food particles still in the sink. After cooking a few meals with colored sauces - like spaghetti my mat has started to stain but for me that is also expected.
