This set appears to be virtually the same as other Erik Frost Morakniv spoon or bowl scorps the high carbon steel blades are tough enough to handle dry hardwoods, though carving green wood is where these tools excel. They are well heat treated & can easily take a keen edge using fine abrasives followed by a leather strop to maintain the polished surface. Of the three hook shapes; 163 Large, 162 Medium, 164 Small, the smallest is often found to be the most useful, though the pointed end requires careful use & safe practice avoid injury. These represent great value & a good starting set of carvers for anyone wishing to learn spoon or bowl carving. I added poplar & blood wood covers to mine to protect the edges as well as some primitive checkering on the handles.
