Thin faux leather layer.

Overall functional. Sturdy pockets, strong magnet, lightweight, etc...exactly as described. However, the faux leather is very thin. Looks like it can tear any minute. Wrinkles up real fast. Upon opening, the centerfold is very wrinkled. The faux leather seems loose on top of whatever's inside, thus causing wrinkles.
Nice!...but packaging needs improvement.

I wanted to really like this product. The color is quite nice, it's slim and should work nicely for its intended use. For the price, I thought it was a really good buy. However, it arrived packaged in only a plastic overwrap...no protection whatsoever...and so now I have a mostly nice looking clipboard with a crushed top corner. Very disappointed.

After leaving this review I was contacted very promptly by the seller and offered a full refund for the damaged item. It really is quite nice and very reasonably priced. I would like to think that they would reconsider the packaging...but 5 stars for excellent customer service!

I use this daily in a commercial setting in the field. For $15 this is really good bang for the buck. The magnetic catch is annoying & usually in the way. I need to just remove it as it's not a very effective feature. Couldn't find a product anywhere close to this on a cost to benefit comparison.

I bought this product, after searching through stores and realizing just how expensive this portfolio is in stores! At my university, the desks are very small, and a clipboard, is really the only thing that can fit on it. Therefore, I wanted a product like this, that I can use to take notes in class, and then take it for job interviews, or meetings I may have after school. This product I purchased in the brown leather, and it is gorgeous. The quality is great, and i defiantly can see this product holding up for my last year of school, and carrying on with me through my career. The portfolio has a clipboard, and a folder on the opposite side, perfect for storing stuff, and just carrying around this folder. In the past, a traditional clipboard has crumbled in my backpack within months, this folder I can see withstanding my busy lifestyle!

Nice solid back allowing me to write where I am at. The cover is comfortable to hold and looks very professional. It holds a 50 sheet legal pad nicely. I did find that the pen holder can't hold a pen or pencil larger than a Papermate Flair and most of my pens are larger due to my carpal tunnel. It still gets a 5 from me.
