but these are the worst. They pretty much represent everything that can go ...
Lindsay WOctober 9, 2017
This post is a pure reflection of the item and not the seller.

I'm sorry to say this, but these are the worst. They pretty much represent everything that can go wrong with knitting needles. The tips are dull. I found them very hard to work with. The tips also pop off which has proven to be disastrous and frustrating. The joins snag the yarn. And to top it off, the set is over 40 bucks. I would never recommend these to anyone.
Really had my hopes up

I hate posting a bad review, but I couldn't help but feel *really* bad if someone else unknowingly invested in this and were sorely disappointed, as I've been. I've tried to make these work over several projects over several months, and have been left counting this as another loss.

Basically, the quality of these needles turned out far below my expectations based on the description and some other reviews I've heard about them. I wish it'd been just a bad batch, but the replacements Knitter's Pride sent me were of the exact same poor quality.

While they are indeed beautiful looking, (and sounding as you knit), I quickly found I this was where the positives end. First of all, the metal tips on the needle tend to snap off the extremely lightweight, poor quality wood, especially in the smaller sizes. I knit very carefully and loosely, but even on my first go with these the tip of the size 1 DPN popped right off just a few rows into my sock.

I also quickly found tiny burrs (like inconsistencies in smoothness of the metal) on almost every tip. After feeling initially just annoyed by the scratching and grinding feeling this produced while knitting, I realized just how thin the metal coating on the tips was: the rubbing quickly revealed another layer of odd-colored metal underneath. Not only did this ruin the sheen (making them look suddenly very cheap), but it made them rougher to use as I knit.

As I said, Knitter's Pride was kind enough to send me replacements for a few of them, citing a possible mishap in quality control, but every replacement they sent me had the same problems as the originals. Unfortunately, I am now officially stuck past the return window with an entire set of pretty DPN's I don't even dare to use anymore.

If anyone is stuck with these, I have found that taking the time to smooth out the burrs with a leather strap helped to bring the larger sizes to a somewhat useable condition. It's a time consuming fix, though, and an annoying one for something that should just work out of the package.

I have other KP products I love and continue to buy. I cant deny the beauty and idea of these is very appealing, but tragically, it's been poorly executed. Without the quality materials these needles need to function, they're just not worth it.

These are the best needles for socks. The points is great and color coded
Do NOT waste your money

I received these today, knit for 2 hours on a sock, and the #2 metal point came off one of the needles and flew across the floor. After checking several needles, the points were not glued on properly. The needles bend and are extremely cheap. I wouldn't pay 5.00 for them much less keep them at 50! Do NOT waste your money. I should have known since I bought plastic circulars from this brand that the tips cracked. Unbelievable. No wonder my mother's 60 year old needles work better and will for 100 more years...they were made to LAST!
