Absolutely useless. It dose not work as it shown in ...
Farnaz•April 20, 2018
I would give it zero star if I could.
Absolutely useless. It dose not work as it shown in the videos advertised here and in youtube. I could not return it since it was shipped out of the country . I paid more $400 on the shipment and tax that made the price close to $1000! I paid all of this because I believed their videos.
Do not order it. A real waste to money.

Not Worth the Price

I don't think it is worth the money. I contemplated returning it, but I think I was already pass the return window when I started using it. It has provided me with perfectly tempered milk and dark Belgian chocolate. The problem is that it's supposed to have a 1.5 pound capacity. I have yet to get a pound to temper without spilling from the top and onto my granite countertop. I always work with callets, and they are especially hard to keep in the bowl without them crawling up and out. In the directions, it says block chocolate is preferred. I didn't know that before purchasing. Directions aren't the best so I watched youtube tutorials to make sure I understood best practices. For the tiny amount of chocolate that it tempers, and not being able to use callets without spillage, I don't thing it's even close to being worth the $500+ price tag.
Works competently, but poor design

On the plus side, when it works, it does its job well. On the minus side:
- One end of the baffle has 2 small metal pins that have to be properly mated into sockets *inside* the top housing for the machine to work. Because you have to insert them without being able to see what you're doing, and because they are ~1/2 inch long and ~ 1/8 inch apart, it's easy to bend them or damage the pins such that a replacement baffle is required. There is no reason an electrical connection needs to be made to the baffle, the pins simply tell the machine the baffle is properly seated. 'Planned obsolescence' comes to mind...
- Although the machine supposedly handles up to 1.5 lb, unless you're tempering ≤1 lb the melted chocolate tends to crawl up onto the baffle. Getting the metal pins wet while cleaning the baffle can damage them, then the baffle has to be replaced. Be extremely careful when cleaning it!
- The 'baffle clip' that is supposed to keep chocolate from oozing up over the baffle as the bowl rotates is too small, it needs to cover more of the bowl. I would prefer to work with chocolate callets for easier weighing and faster melting, but they crawl right up and over the baffle clip.
In summary, while the product tempers chocolate well, I don't think I would buy it again due to the design flaws.

DON"T BUY

This machine is not worth buying. It is very loud and does not perform as well as our worn out Chandre Sinsation. After using this tempering machine we have decided to sell it on Ebay.
Okay for the price.

I like the product for the money, but the probe doesn't register the temperature property all the time. Have to use my infrared thermometer to get an accurate reading.
