Non-standard Threads

The idea behind this adapter is great. It provides the ability to attach threaded tools (such as a hook, squeegee, etc.) to a standard aluminum pool pole (used for the skimmer net, brush, etc.). One end of the adapter is standard click change buttons and the other is what appears to be a standard male thread for screw-on tool attachments. The problem is the thread is not standard and doesn't fit any of my extension pole tools. It's very disappointing since the build quality looks excellent and the versatility would be valuable.
