Very sturdy rack, low quality threaded holes, but square hole option
David✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 12, 2023
Mounted mine to a cinder block wall to hold 5 pieces of network equipment and the rack itself is extremely sturdy. I had no problems with the quality of the hardware. A surprise to me was the discovery that I could assemble it with either threaded rack holes or square holes for inserts. Since I did not have enough of the threaded inserts, I used the threaded holes. This worked fine, but the threading is rather cheap with just simple threaded holes in the sheet metal. My old rack had pressed-in threaded inserts that were much better quality and would definitely last longer before stripping out. As I won't be changing out pieces of equipment regularly, it will likely be fine.
Well worth the price

Used the rack take a little load off an existing full size rack. Mounted above and it turned out great. For the people complaining about mounting holes not being 16" OC, not sure where that is coming from. They were fine. One small complaint is that (a) it comes with mounting hardware for brick or masonry not wood ?? and (b) if you use a big lag bolt for wood, the keyhole slots are too small to allow the head to pass through. So you have to actually hold the whole rack in place and drive a screw through the mounting holes. If you use a small wood screw it would work but I wanted to use big lags like a TV mount for example.
Surprisingly strong for the price.

It doesn't have very many pieces and when I mounted the bottom initially it was bouncy so I had my doubts about how strong it would be, but once I put the sides in and attached the top it's rock solid. I could probably sit on it. It is holding a heavy power amplifier, mixer and shelf easily. The bottom and top do have about a 6" section in the front that kind of serves as a shelf. It took about 15 minutes total to install

Also, the holes on the front rails are pre-threaded for standard rackmount screws which is convenient. They include some screws for those holes, some concrete anchors, and some square hole inserts for the sides if you need em. It's a thoughtful package of hardware.
good value for a solid rack

Decent quality for the price. Others complain about the mounts not lining up with wall studs on 16 inch centers - this is a 19 inch rack and does not have a solid back, how are they supposed to line up?!?!? The proper way to mount a rack like this is to put plywood on the wall and mount the rack to the plywood. Make the plywood larger than the rack and you can easily put 4, 6, 8, etc. lag bolts solidly into the studs then mount the rack to the plywood. Some have mentioned that it was tough to assemble - it took all of 6 minutes to put together. My only complaint is the bolts are VERY soft and the phillips heads easily strip out. But that can be quickly resolved for about $2.00 worth of nuts and bolts from any hardware store.

Ignore the mess, I am nowhere near done with the install yet. I just threw the modem/router/switch/etc. on top of the rack to get it out of the floor so I would quit stepping on/tripping over them. maybe when I get done with the install and have the rack full I will upload another picture...

[EDIT] - Everything is not completely done but it is close enough to get an idea. I am still very happy with this rack: solidly built, everything lines up, all of the threaded holes are holding up well after things have been mounted/removed several times. Plenty of depth for all of the equipment I am installing. Between the rack, Cable Matters Rackmount or Wallmount 48-Port Cat6 RJ45 Patch Panel , Raxxess RAX Unitray Universal Rack Tray UNS1 , and CyberPower CPS1215RMS Surge Protector, 1800J/120V, 12 Outlets, 15ft Power Cord, 1U Rackmount it makes a pretty nice system and everything is neatly (well as neatly as I can do) mounted and connected.

My only complaint is still the hardware that ships with the rack, it is rather soft and easy to strip the heads. There are also not enough bolts to mount everything if you had the rack full of hardware. Again, no big deal; a few dollars at the local hardware store and all is well.
Great for home use. Deeper than most to allow for deep rackmount equipment.

When looking at the combination of price and quality, this gets a 5 star.
Easy to put together. No issue with the screws except the bag that was securely attached to the pieces had ripped open (the good news, all the screws were still there though rattling around inside the box)

The bottom and top pieces have enough area to sit things on without needing to buy a rack shelf. I've got a Synology DS-213 sitting on the bottom corner and my Arlo and Hue receivers sitting on top of the rack.

As others mention, the mounting holes are 17" apart though I expect you can flex them in to 16.5". I used a cheater 2x4 to one stud and mounted to that instead of plywood since my studs are exposed in the area it's being mounted.

I went with this over the Startech as it was close to half the price (though that does look a bit sturdier). The Navepoint looks to be a good alternative but it does not have any bottom or top area to just have things sit on it.
