Refractometer for Grape Wine Brewing, Measuring Sugar Content in Original Grape Juice and Predicting The Wine Alcohol Degree, Dual Scale of 0-40% Brix & 0-25% vol Alcohol, Wine Making Kit

Key features
- •It's designed for testing the sugar content of grapes and predicting the alcohol degree of wine which would be produced from these grapes.
- •With this refractometer, you can pick out ideal grapes for making wine easier and quicker.
- •The extra large scale range of brix 0-40% lends itself to many other uses too. You can use it to test the brix of any liquid.
- •Automatic Temperature Compensation makes it even easier to get fast results.
- •Easy operation and save big: just need 2-3 drops of solution, you can get accurate readings.

Higher scale - great for wine or mead!

This refractometer goes up to a higher measurement of refractivity than most of the refractometers for beer, so it can be used for higher gravity brews, e.g. wine and strong mead. That said, I've only used the Brix scale on here and have ignored the other one about "Degree Alcohol."
I haven't verified if the automatic temperature correction (ATC) works as intended, so I'm leaving it out of my review.
One of the pins holding the clear plastic cover to the hinge was a bit loose and prone to slipping out when the refractometer was held sideways; a dab of super glue fixed that, and I've been quite satisfied with this product.
Short update: I've had this refractometer for a little over a year, and it continues to work well. I never have to recalibrate it, and the temperature auto-correction seems to work. I don't really have a way to necessarily verify for sure that the ATC is working, but after plugging in my numbers from the Brix scale into a formula to compute initial specific gravity, it was only .002 off from my target gravity as given by an online calculator. So I'd say it's great!
