I had a slow-starter in the self-inflation category, but it DID inflate after a couple hours. After I repacked it per instructions and went to use it while camping it inflated immediately, and worked well for the three nights I was using it. I wanted to mention this because I didn't see anyone else with same issue. I emailed the seller and received an email right back, even though it was a Saturday.

This is a very good product and at the price, you really can't beat it. I do wish the compression straps were better (they're elastic, not great for really compressing the pad down tightly), but I'm not expecting high-end compression straps when the price is already really good on this item.
Make sure to follow the directions before first use and fully inflate the pad, letting it sit for 24 hours to allow the foam to re-expand after being super compressed during shipping and storage.

Happy with the quality upon receipt. Not sure what happened with other purchasers, but mine included a stuff sack and two elastic bands. Does need help inflating when initially opened, but after that it works like a charm. Comfort-wise it seems to be right in between my 1 inch entry-level camp mats and my more luxurious 2 1/2 inch base camp bed. Still needs to be field tested, but I'm sure it will be fine.

I bought three of these for my husband, our son and me to use for tent camping. The first night we loved them; the second night we liked them; the third night we struggled to get comfortable; the fourth night we stayed in a hotel. We never tent camp for too long, so for us they are just fine. I like the way they self-inflate (though I always give mine a little extra air), and the bags are great for storage.
