Not just a cutting board...
TM Conway✓ Verified Purchase•January 27, 2024
It's NOT just a cutting board because it's perfect for anyone with a tiny kitchen and/or just needs more counter space.
SPACE-MAKER:
This fits perfectly across my double sink so that I have all this room! I do a lot of baking & need room for bowls, rolling out & kneading dough, etc. My kitchen is TINY & I've had to go as far as using the dining table (which is in my *carpeted* living room/dining area).
STURDY:
I placed this across my sinks and it was sturdy. It didn't bend or creak. I tested the strength by setting this over my sink and loading the board by balancing on it 2 flour & sugar canisters & a couple of big stew pots filled with about 4 gallons of water each. The board held up just fine. (To keep the board from possibly sliding around when I am kneading, I put a wet rag under both side edges.) I was slamming my dough down on this to knead it & it held up.
CLEANING:
It's very easy to clean. I used hot soapy water and a rag. All the cooling oil and flour came right off. For some dried clumps of dough, I used a scrubber pad & it came right off. Because this is a JUMBO board, I did have to tilt it standing over the sink to wash it down. It's not going to fit in most dishwashers. However, because it's easy to clean, that's not a problem. I think that greasy & red sauces might be a problem if you let them sit.
HEAT:
I don't sit this anywhere near my stove/oven & I won't be using it to hold hot baking pans. However, I did read somewhere that it is heat *resistant* up to 180F. Out of curiosity, I did set a hot loaf pan fresh out of the oven on it for a couple of minutes - with a wet towel under the pan. That pan didn't warp or damage the board but, again, I'm not going to make a practice of this!
STORAGE:
Okay. This is what I didn't think through when I bought this! LOL
My apartment is less than 700 sq feet & none of my kitchen cabinets are big enough to hold this. The biggest pantry I have is in the bathroom & I'm not storing this there. I ended up sliding this behind a small bookcase that is right by my kitchen. I store extra pots, pans, etc there so this works. I will just make sure to wipe the bottom edge of the board down every time I use it.
If you don't use this constantly, as I do, I think that sliding it overhead of your cupboards would work. I will do that if I have a baking lull. The board will fit there. It would also fit on top of my fridge but I am using that already.
BOTTOM LINE:
I am so happy that I found this. Everything else is too fancy or pricey. I tried a stove cover but my stove is small so that didn't make a lot of room & that wouldn't break my small budget. I just needed a very sturdy & basic board to give me more room.
This is the perfect gift for anyone who needs it to make more room in their small or just likes to bake.

Don''t leave it in the sun

This is a huge cutting board and great for the campsite or to cover an ice chest for cleaning fish. Don't leave it in the sun on an uneven surface though or it will warp. It's easy enough to straighten if you put it back in the sun on a flat surface for a little while. In the kitchen it is great for doing a lot of cutting and vegetable prep. It's also big enough to handle a smoked brisket. It does not have a juice groove on either side but it is easy to clean.
Just Fits My Electric Stove Top
Ellie✓ Verified Purchase•December 5, 2023
It just fits over my electric circle burners. It doesn't go edge to edge for my stove, but it leaves just enough room so I can turn it sideways & cook on two of the burners. It is slightly heavy, but that's because it's pretty thick. I don't use it to cut on, I use it as a stove top cover so I can have more counter space. I'm really happy with this purchase. ðŸ‘
