OK... I've gotten sick of the taste of my rectal thermometer (yeah, yeah... an old joke) so I decided to get something new. Really, I was just having a hard time getting a consistent reading from our old oral thermometer (and it's hard to see the silver line on the old-school glass thermometer anyway). I've always been happy with Braun products and this wasn't crazy expensive like the newer $90-120 units and the reviews seemed more consistent, so I decided this was a winner. When I'm sick or I'm caring for someone who is, I don't need to be messing with Bluetooth and apps... I just want to know the temp quickly and accurately.

I just got my unit and had it working within 3-4 minutes of opening the box. I took my own temperature 5 times in a row and got 98.0 once and 98.2 four times. That's pretty solid and reliable, so I'm happy.

During the flu season, we really depend on it. You don't need to turn on the light when you use it on the night time and you can get the exactly the right temperature! The only thing you need to care about is if the little baby doesn't want you to touch his or her ears, you need to buy the forehead instead.

This thermometer is amazing, especially with multiple little children in the house. We were previously using the Innovo Medical Forehead and Ear (Dual Mode) Thermometer which is absolute junk. It was giving me so many different readings and I never knew which to believe. This became irritating especially when my 2 year old daughter was running a fever and I never knew what it was or even close to it, which is extremely important when trying to treat a fever appropriately. I got this one in the mail today and immediately tested it against the other and this one was hands down better. It was more accurate, faster and I love that it comes with the protective caps and a storage holder for protection. I also love the age feature since we have multiple small children and the little ones are more vulnerable. Excellent thermometer and I recommend the 7 to any parent!

The only digital thermoscan we trust

I purchased this particular Braun thermoscan model for the colour illuminated temperature display. I am very pleased with the display. The only problem I encountered was trying to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. The temperature setting finally changed after numerous attempts of following the directions. I'm still not sure how it occured.
